KBS Mumbai holds International Accreditation Awareness Seminar

Kohinoor Business School in collaboration with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) organized an ‘International Accreditation Awareness Seminar’. The seminar was organized in association with standards for Educational Advancement & Accreditation Trust (SEAA). Directors & faculty members from over 25 business schools of Mumbai participated in the accreditation seminar.

Dr NM Kondap, Director General of KBS received the Certificate of Membership of Accreditation Council for Business & Programs from Mr Douglas Viehland, Executive Director – ACBSP and Mr A Thothatri Raman, Chairman, SEAA Trust. With this Kohinoor Business School, Mumbai is a current member in good standing with ACBSP.

The event started with a brief introduction of delegates Mr Douglas Viehland, Executive Director ACBSP (USA) and Mr A Thothatri Raman, Chairman , SEAA Trust, New Delhi by Dr N M Kondap, Director General, KBS.

Mr. A Thothatri Raman in his address said “we have 4000 business school in our country out of which 20 business school are accredited so far, so at least 100 business schools under the international accreditation should get it by 2015. International accreditation will be the best quality bench mark on student learning, faculty effectiveness and institutional branding. ACBSP has a large number of accreditation in India no. 8 and they have 17 member schools currently undergoing accreditation ACBSP process. Kohinoor Business School is the 18th one to receive this membership of ACBSP. This accreditation process takes 2 - 3 years, during this period there will be a strong drive building quality all around, relating to student learning, faculty and institutional effectiveness”.

Mr. Douglas Viehland, Executive Director ACBSP said “ACBSP was founded in the year of 1988; it was founded to create an accreditation process designed to fit the needs of business programs. It is mainly focused on teaching and learning that occurs during the classroom. We grant the accreditation for different business schools that are running business study courses like Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Information Technology, Quantitative Analysis & Decision Making, Operations Management, Managerial Economics, Strategic Management & Leadership, Financial Concepts & Markets etc.”
