Placement season 2015 at IIM Trichy, one of the six new IIMs, was marked with grand success with 100% placement. 30% of the total job offers came from the IT/ITeS & Analytics followed by 28% from BFSI sector. The industry reinstated its faith in the institute as past recruiters along with new recruiters took part in the placement process 2015.
The unique feature in the process was the diversity of profiles offered to the students which gave them a good choice in terms of industry and the role. These included roles such as Risk Management, Supply Chain Management, Product Manager, Capital Market Analyst, Inventory Management, Insurance sales, Management Consulting, Digital Marketing, Portfolio Management, AGM in Housing Finance, Group Management Cadre, Data Analytics, Equity Research, Rural Marketing, Media (Radio) Marketing among others.
Key Trends in placement 2015
IIM Trichy has a consistent record of excellent placement. The batch size of the two year post graduate programme in management at this highly ranked B school increased from 80 students in 2013 to 106 students in 2015, out of which 103 students registered and participated in the Placement 2015. All the 103 students registered for final placements got more offers per candidate.
Sharing the information Prof Abhishek Totawar, Chairperson Placement & external Relations says “For the first time, we have seen instances of multiple offers per student. Three students have obtained multiple offers”.
3 students opted out
Out of 103 students 3 opted out of the placement 2015 process. Of the three students, one was on a sabbatical and has returned to the previous employer, one joined family business, and the third decided to seek opportunities through personal network.
Rise in Number of recruiters
Number of recruiters at IIM Trichy rose from 76 in placement 2014 to 103 in 2015 making more offers to 103 students. 3 students got multiple offers. The students also secured 18 Pre Placement Offers. 26 first time recruiters visited the campus during the placement season and made 56 job offers to the students

Average and highest compensation 2015
Beating the slowdown in placement offers, the placement season 2015 at IIM Trichy saw an average salary of Rs.11.32 lakhs per annum with highest salary of Rs. 19.50 lakhs per annum showing a rising trend in the job market.
While the top 10 percentilers got an average annual compensation of Rs. 16 lakhs, the average salary for top 20 percentilers was Rs. 14.93 lakhs followed by Rs. 13.24 lakhs for top 50 percentiles. For top 75 percentile it stood at Rs12.17 lakhs per annum.

IT/ITes & Analytics emerged as the prominent recruiting sector in placement 2015 at IIM Trichy followed by BFSI. While IT/ITeS & Analytics had the major chunk in placement 2015 with 30%, BFSI was the next with 28%. Sector wise placement at IIM Trichy is as under
