Download CAT 2017 Admit card first on Oct 25! Then opt for IIFT 2017 test centre change

CAT 2017 Admit card download will be available from 1 PM onwards on October 25. The first activity on CAT Admit card release date should be to view and download your CAT 2017 Admit card and check which CAT test centre has been allotted to you before you take any decision to exercise the option of change in IIFT 2017 exam centre. The facility to change the IIFT test centre is available till November 3.

IIFT has advised, “Candidates should be careful while opting for the Admission Test Centre. A fee of `1,000/- will be charged for changing the opted Centre. No request for change of centre will be entertained after 3rd November 2017.”

CAT Admit Card: Document to decide your IIFT exam Travel Plan
The CAT 2017 Admit card was to be released on October 18, but the date has now been postponed by a week and the CAT aspirants will get their CAT Admit card on October 25. The delay has adversely affected the candidates who are appearing in IIFT 2017 entrance exam also as it will impact their decision whether to exercise the option to change the IIFT test centre or keep it the same.

Now with hardly a month remaining to appear in CAT 2017 on November 26 and in IIFT 2017 MBA (IB) entrance exam on December 3, only a few days are left to exercise your option of change in test centre by November 3, 2017.

Since IIM Lucknow has postponed the date of issuing the Admit card for CAT 2017 to October 25, it will be better to decide the appropriate test centre for IIFT 2017 in accordance with the CAT 2017 test centre to minimize the last moment glitches. Please note that you cannot change the test centre for CAT 2017.

CAT test centre: 1^st or 4^th choice? Check and decide
Although, you were asked to enter four preferred choices to select the CAT 2017 exam centre, the final authority to allocate the CAT exam centre out of your preferred four choices lies with CAT Centre 2017.

If you don’t get your 1^st or 2^nd preferred CAT exam centre, you have to go by the allotment but you cannot change the CAT 2017 exam centre under any condition and the only option left is to change your IIFT exam centre at a cost of Rs.1000/- and your request should be submitted latest by November 3.

So, in case of allotment of not so suitable centre for CAT 2017, you can change the test centre for IIFT 2017 but not for the CAT 2017.  IIFT has been benevolent enough to permit the change in the exam centre but at a price of course and within specified time.

Spend Rs.1000/- to change the IIFT test centre
The already paid registration fee will not suffice for change of IIFT exam centre. The candidate is required to send a written request for change of test centre. The request should be duly signed by the student and a DD of Rs.1000/- in favour of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade payable at New Delhi must accompany the request. Please note that this request must be sent on or before 3rd November 2017.

20 Test centres
IIFT 2017 entrance test for its MBA (IB) batch 2018-20 will be held on December 3, 2017 at 20 test centres across India.

IIFT 2017 exam centres are Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubeneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hydrabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.

IIFT is a deemed University and MBA (International Business) at IIFT is a six trimester management programme with a focus on International Business for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country's growing requirements for trained personnel in the field of International Business Management. 

IIFT proposes to offer admission to 360 students to its flagship MBA (IB) 2018-208 programme at Delhi (220 seats), Kolkata(140 seats) and Kakinada (60 seats) campuses though the entrance exam to be held on December 3.

CAT 2017 V/s IIFT 2017: Key facts

Be wise before opting for test centre change for IIFT exam. You must have filled up the close exam cities as your first 2 choices at least, as the test centres both for CAT 2017 and IIFT 2017 to avoid any fatigue and too much of travelling just before the exam day.  

If you are allotted the 1^st or 2^nd preferred test centre for CAT 2017 exam in CAT 2017 Admit card on October 25, and it is a bit near to the IIFT exam city, you need not change the IIFT exam city as you still have a week to finalize your travel plan. However, if there is too much distance between the two exam cities it will be better to exercise the option of IIFT test centre change before November 3 in accordance with your CAT exam centre that you would come to know only after getting your CAT 2017 Admit Card on October 25.

Please note also that it will be better to decide quickly as your IIFT exam centre change request could be entertained only if the preferred test centre is not full to capacity.
