The Indian School of Business (ISB) and the Department of Management Studies, at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, recently signed an MoU for conducting joint academic research.

According to the MoU, faculty and academicians from both institutions will partner on joint research projects and publish their research in internationally reputed academic journals.

The collaboration was jointly signed by Professor M Rammohan Rao, Dean ISB and Professor M S Ananth, Director, IIT Madras, at a ceremony in IIT.

In addition to research, IIT graduates can also join the ISB as Academic Associates in preparation for a PhD programme in an internationally reputed university of choice. The ISB will provide adequate academic exposure and facilitate interactions with expert faculty, which in turn will support the pursuit of a doctoral programme abroad.
The MoU also allows for a host of joint programmes such as special lectures for faculty, research scholars, students and research staff; sharing of academic materials and information/knowledge/technology resources necessary for research, jointly guiding/supervising academic research at the masters and doctoral levels, and lastly organising conferences, seminars, lecture series, etc.

"This is a momentous occasion for us," said Dean Rao. "With ISB and IIT Madras, two leading academic institutions of the country, joining forces for collaborative research, I am sure we will produce cutting-edge research relevant to issues that industries face today," he said.

Professor Ananth added, "IIT Madras has a strong tradition of research. Now that we have developed this synergy with ISB's outstanding faculty, I am sure that scholars from both our institutions will contribute to advancing the frontiers of management education across the world."
