NMIMS and FMS win the Paper Presentation competition at FMS

A team from NMIMS, Mumbai consisting of Saurav Nandi and Shridhar Ramkumar won the paper presentation competition on the ‘Rethinking of Development of Financial Institutes’ (DFIs) Model and Post Sub prime Issues at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS),

Delhi on March 01, 2008. Another Team from FMS consisting of Mr Raghav Vij and Pritish Mehta won the runners up award. The competition was organized by the Finance Society of FMS in association with Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI).  

The winning team got the scholarship of Rs 30,000 from IFCI.  

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Madhu Vij, Placement Advisor for the FMS, MBA programme, said, “We received total 60 entries for this competition and out of which we have shortlisted the 5 best entries.” These five teams included 2 teams from FMS and one team each from IIFT, Delhi, NMIMS, Mumbai and NITIE, Mumbai. 

Said, Dr Pankaj Sinha, Reader in Financial Engineering, FMS, “Through such competitions we are encouraging management students to deal with real issues and to come out with solutions, suggestions and case studies. In this way we encourage them to be involved in research.”  

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, Mr Himanshu Sharma, Manager - IFCI said, “IFCI has set up Chairs in reputed educational/ management institutions and universities like MDI, IIM-Ahmedabad and more. We are promoting institutions in management field, which in future tend to benefit us.”  

Talking about plans for more such competitions in future Dr Sinha said, “From now onward this will be regular feature at FMS. Every year FMS will organize this competition in association with IFCI. The topic will be chosen by Finance society of FMS.”
