JBIMS Mumbai has not yet started its application process for admission to its flagship management course MMS 2017-19 and has also created an environment of uncertainty among aspirants by removing all the details regarding admission process
All India candidates are confused whether they should apply to JBIMS separately on the basis of their CAT 2016 scores or it is necessary for them to register and apply for MAHCET 2017

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) Mumbai has not yet started its application process for admission to its flagship management course MMS 2017-19. On the top of it JBIMS has removed all the details regarding the admission process from its website adding woes and creating panic among the MBA aspirants who wish to apply for admission to MMS 2017-19 at JBIMS.

Candidates from all over the country are looking for admission to this top B-school as there is 15% seat quota out of an intake of 120 students to flagship MMS programme for Outside Maharashtra (OMS) candidates. But JBIMS has neither opened its application process nor has it advised any further change in the admission policy. Now All India candidates are confused whether they should apply to JBIMS separately on the basis of their CAT 2016 scores or it is necessary for them to register and apply for MAHCET 2017 to get admission in JBIMS.

JBIMS Mumbai is one of the top MBA colleges of India but during the past 3 years especially since it was awarded the status of autonomous management institute in 2014, JBIMS  has changed its admission process every year. Due to the frequent shift in its admission policy, JBIMS has been creating an environment of uncertainty and panic among the candidates.

What next? Candidates in panic
In the month of December 2016 JBIMS Mumbai had announced its admission policy for MMS 2017-19 and confirmed that it proposed to open its MMS 2017-19 admission application process in the month of January 2017, around 2 months before the MAHCET MBA/MMS 2017 exam which is scheduled to be held on March 4 & 5, 2017 across the country.

But, even before JBIMS could start the application process for admission to MMS 2017-19, it chose to remove all the admission related details from its website again. This has further created speculation whether the B-school proposes to change its admission policy again and whether candidates need to apply to JBIMS separately or to register for MAHCET 2017 first.

When will JBIMS announce application dates?
The Admission announcement released 2 months ago by JBIMS shared “An advertisement inviting applications for the MMS/MSC Finance full-time program is put up in the leading newspapers a month or two before the exam.” The online application form when enabled will be available at JBIMS Mumbai official website www.jbims.edu.in.

It is less than a month to the MAHCET 2017 exam now and JBIMS has not advised till date how and when the candidates should apply for admission to this coveted B-school. The reputation of this top B-school is at stake and JBIMS due to its fluctuating stand is killing its own brand for no apparent reason.

Will or will not the JBIMS conduct own counseling round?
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) Mumbai had earlier announced that it will conduct its own counselling process instead of participating and finalizing the admissions through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017 conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.

But now the picture is not clear whether the candidates need to register and apply for MAHCET 2017, or should appear in CAP round only or should separately apply to JBIMS. The confusion has put the candidates in dilemma.

MAHCET 2017: Last date to apply closes today Feb 13
The biggest issue before the MBA aspirants seeking admission to MMS 2017-19 at JBIMS is that the last date to apply for MAHCET 2017 will close today on February 13, 2017. If they do not apply to MAHCET 2017, they will not be considered for the admission by DTE Maharashtra. Again if they apply to MAHCET 2017 and JBIMS conducts its own counseling, the candidates will only waste their money as the CAT 2016 scores are equally considered by JBIMS for admission and there will not be any separate need to register and apply for MAHCET 2017.

Either way, it is high time that JBIMS should announce the start date of its application process or should inform the MBA aspirants in case there is any change in its admission policy.

JBIMS Intake
Total number of seats available for MMS admission for 2017-19, according to JBIMS is 120 out of which around 18 students belong to All India category. There were 139 students in the batch 2016-18 at JBIMS.

The 2 years MSc Finance course has an intake of 30 students.

2 years MMS programme fee is Rs.2.05 lakhs at JBIMS, Mumbai. The fee structure is under revision.

Student Accommodation at JBIMS
JBIMS students get hostel facilities in the hostels of University of Mumbai, but these hostel accommodations are limited to Outside Mumbai students.

MMS is the flagship course of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), conducted as a university department of University of Mumbai.
