MAT scoring pattern is different from other MBA entrance exams. There are 160 questions divided in 4 sections scores of which are taken into account to calculate your percentile in May MAT 2017 exam. If you write MAT May 2017 exam on May 7 and your composite score is between 765 to 775 out of 800, you are supposed to get a percentile between 99 to 99.5.

If you score a raw score of around 70 in 4 sections of MAT, it implies that after taking into account the negative marking of ¼ your 70 marks would become more than 350 or so. This composite score will get you a percentile of about 90.

-Since there is option in MAT exam to choose between paper based MAT or Computer based MAT, Ketan advises the students to opt for paper-based test. In PBT MAT exam you can see all the questions at once. Marking the answers on an OMR sheet is better than marking the answers using mouse.

  • Write as many mocks as you can and analyze them well.
  • Make a wise choice of questions. This will help you to manage each section well.
  • Be accurate and prioritize your questions. It is good to attempt those questions first which are from your strong areas and only afterwards, you should choose such questions which appear difficult to you.
  • It is not necessary to attempt GK questions. The section is not taken into account to calculate your percentile and merit score.
