Tycoons Leadership Summit holds discussion on leadership, society, media and education

As part of Tycoons 2008, organized by leading education domain company Career Launcher, a day-long Leadership Summit was held where 48 bright brains under the age of 25 were given a chance to interact with leaders from a variety of fields.

Held at Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon on March 13, this initiative was followed by an award ceremony.  

The Tycoons 2008 Leadership Summit began with a session on public policy and social transformation. Public Policy was addressed by panellists like Lt. Gen. (Retd) SS Mehta, Director General, CII and C V Madhukar, Co-Founder, Parliamentary Research Service. Social Transformation topic was addressed by Sachin Rao, Jeroninio (Jerry) Almeida, founder and chief volunteer of iCONGO and Arvind Kejriwal. Discussion on Education sector were saw Parth Shah, Shaheen Mistri and S Pandey.  

On the occasion these leaders inspired the youngsters to become a leader and work toward the reforms in society and for the growth of the country by sharing their experiences and thoughts.

Mr Arvind Kejriwal said, "So far we used to feel helpless when we see corruption or wrongdoing, but with right to information (RTI), the ball is in our court. Rather then criticizing governance, policy and political parties we should use RTI and participating in governance and policy making."   

When asked by MBAuniverse.com on what qualities should leader have, Mr Kejriwal said, "To become a leader we need focus, dedication, sincerity, simplicity and honesty."  

The second half of the Leadership Summit commenced with a session on Media lead by Tarun Tejpal (Tehlka), Suhasini Haider (CNN-IBN), Nitin Gokhale (NDTV). 

Ace shooter Col RVS Rathore and Indian Hokey Player Viren Rasquinha spoke on the theme 'Realizing my potentials' and 'Indian and her future' was addressed by Commodore C Uday Bhaskar, Madhu Goud Yaskhi (MP). 

Talking about media, Mr Tarun Tejapl talked about changing face of journalism and need of courage to willingness to bring out right thing in front of society. He said, "Today media is becoming business in the name of journalism. Media is the trendsetter so it's media responsibility to place the information in right order. For this we need people who can question power and have ears very close to the ground."  

Speaking about the Summit, Mr Satya R., Chairman, Career Launcher said, "Our mission at Career Launcher is 'To enable people and to realize their potential and make their dream come true'. Tycoons 2008 and its Leadership Series is a step in right direction.'
