In retrospect, this February, given the backdrop of sub-prime crisis and slowing down of US economy, with so many graduates from top campuses wanting to join the coveted financial sectors, placement teams and graduates were a worried lot. However, top global finance firms kept their promises.

Says IIM-A, “Despite the grim situation in international financial markets, a total of 113 students out of 255 will be joining the financial sector this year. At the time when many banks have imposed a ‘hiring freeze’ on their international recruitments, students from IIM-A have been preferred over students from other B-schools from around the world.”

Comments IIM-B, “The final placement process at IIM-B has set new benchmarks for the Indian MBA graduates. This year leading global consulting firms flocked down to IIM-B making a beeline for the students along with global investment banks and marketing firms.”

There are several other interesting trends and analysis emerging from the placement report. More details from the report will be published on MBAUnivese.com soon.
