IME to hold national conference on ‘Information Technology and Competitive Dynamics’

Delhi NCR based Institute of Management Education (IME) will be hosting a national conference on the topic of Information Technology & Competitive Dynamics (ITCDC’08) on April 19-20, 2008.

The conference will address several issues like rising global competition, role of corporations and survival strategies for corporates.

Talking about the conference theme, Dr D P Goyal, Director of IME says, “Impact of IT can be felt on business process, E-commerce and Business Intelligence. Value of Information Technologies has evolved in business organization from a status symbol to that of a back bone. Use of such tools and technologies and their suitability for business advantage, rather sustenance has always been an area of concern.”

Conference will host research papers from the various sectors of the economy including Banking and Insurance, Stock Market, Financial Derivative, Manufacturing, E-Business, Media, Retail and others. Some of the theme topics are: Global competition & competitiveness of corporate; New Architecture of Competitive Dynamics under Globalization; The Dynamics of firms and state in the New Economy; Regulation, De-Regulation and Re-Regulation; WTO and Global Trade issues; Corporate alliances mergers and acquisition – issues involved; Knowledge Management; Legal Issues and Cyber Laws and Innovation in Business.

Adds Dr Goyal, “The prime objective of the conference would be to review changing perspectives and upcoming challenges so as to find the possible strategies for survival and increasing corporate competence. Thus, the conference would provide a platform for knowledge contributors to express their views and perceive information on topics related to Competitive Business and Information Technology.”

The Institute of Management Education (IME) was started in 1995 by a group of leading academicians and corporate executives in Northern India. Initially the institute was started with full time PGDM programme duly approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
