JIM Noida holds Convocation; Mr SK Roongta, Chairman, SAIL asks students to uphold moral values

Noida based Jaipuria Institute of Management (JIM) celebrated its second Convocation Day on April 10, 2008.

Mr  S K Roongta, Chairman, Steel Authority of India was the Chief Guest on the occasion, where the 58 students from the PGDM programme (2006-08 batch) and 62 students from the MBA degree programme of UP Technical University (2005-07 batch) received their degrees and diplomas. Mr Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman, Board of Governors, JIM Noida conferred the MBA degrees and PGDM diplomas to the graduating batches.

While giving his valuable message to the graduating batch at the occasion, Mr Roongta said, "You should have an attitude to learn all the time. One thing more I would like to say is that it is necessary to have ethics, moral values, discipline and positive attitude wherever you work. Upholding moral values in today's times is very important."

Focusing on Indian talent and public-private partnership, Mr Sharad Jaipuria delivered the message to the students and said, "India is emerging as a talent reservoir for the world but the reservoir can become empty if higher education policy is not altered by government to provide a greater role for private-public partnership".

On the occasion, Dr J D Singh, Director, JIM Noida highlighted the progress of the Institute and said, "It was an eventful year with increase in intake of PGDM students from 60 to 120 seats and commencement of new course PGDM (services) with an intake of 60 seats."
