There’s a buzz about the retail giant-in-the-making Bharti-WalMart at Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies (FMS). Bharti-WalMart is believed to have made five offers for its retail venture to the outgoing batch at FMS at Placements 2007.

Organized retail, a sunrise sector in India, is expected to provide rich learnings and job mobility as more and more international players enter the country.

As reported earlier on this portal, FMS’s Placements ‘07 drew a good response from corporates. The finance sector dominated, with close to 50% of all placements happening in this domain. The highest paying job on campus came from the financial sector with Calyon Bank offering Rs.16 lakh per annum. The rest of the offers were nearly evenly spread between IT, FMCG and Consulting. The Top 5 recruiters included HSBC, Citibank, ABN Amro, Standard Chartered and ICICI.

The Sunil Mittal-led Bharti and world's largest retailer WalMart had inked a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly explore business opportunities in India. According FMS placement information, Bharti-WalMart was recruiting for the first time in India.
