Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad has done India proud by securing #15 rank in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2009, released on January 26, 2009.

Immediately after breaking this news, MBAUniverse.com spoke to Mr Ajit Rangnekar, Acting Dean, ISB Hyderabad to get the first reactions on this recognition. 

Said a jubilant Mr Rangnekar, "Its a wonderful feeling and we are having a big celebration here! It is really a huge achievement for ISB to be ranked at 15 position in the world. Last year also, we felt great when it got 20th position in the world. There is a sign that shows how much ISB is improving year after year."

What are the factors that helped ISB improve its ranking from #20 last year to #15 this year? When MBAUniverse.com asked this to Mr Rangnekar, he said, "Yes, the overall factor is that there is a quality improvement in all the important areas of ISB which brought it at this position. I would like to highlight few areas: the quality of education is improving, numbers of students are increasing, the tremendous and diversified work experience that ISB students have is also increasing."

 "The ISB placements have also seen a very positive response. We know that we create perfect managers as per the market need," added Mr Rangnekar.

ISB rise to the top of world management scene is expected to give a huge boost to the image of India as a knowledge destination in management domain. As the news sinks in at the ISB campus on the outskirts of Hyderabad, ISB is sure to bask in the new found glory on the world stage. 

Financial Times MBA ranking is widely followed around the world as one of the most definitive MBA rankings. The FT MBA ranking 2009 was compiled from data supplied by 9,000 business school alumni working in 130 countries.
