Mumbai based S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research will be hosting TATA HR SUMMIT on February 15, as part of the management fest OJAS '09. The theme of the summit is "Downturn Cycle – A Challenge or an Opportunity?"

Says SPJIMR, "How do you get the most from your people when resources are scarce and the future uncertain? Can this downturn be used as an opportunity for a take off during good times? Or can managing the softer issues like building relationship, communication process etc. make a difference in these times? During such times the best employers and great companies adopt a different approach and take actions to support the Human Resource Value. They enhance the people assets over a long term by good Human Resources Management practices which enables them to build a competitive edge on a sustainable basis.  The summit provides a platform to discuss the revision of current strategic and operational plans to combat the turmoil at a time when the rules of the past no longer hold true. Panels are composed of industry practitioners ready to share ideas and debate strategic issues plaguing the current market place."

The Summit will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at SPJIMR Auditorium at Bhavans Campus in Mumbai.
