XIMB Bhubaneswar confers degrees on 235 grads at Convocation 09

B-schools across the country are holding annual convocations to award graduating students their degrees and diplomas and giving them parting wisdom into ever-changing world of business and management domain.

Now in the line of convocations, it was the turn of Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) which hosted the 18th annual Convocation in its campus on March 21, 2009. 

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri. Siddhartha Behura, I.A.S., Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. Also present on the occasion were Shri.Rajive Kaul, Chairman of XIMB , Fr. P.T.Joseph S.J., Director, Prof. W.S.William, Dean (Academics) and Fr.Tony Uvary S.J.,  Dean (Administration).

Commenting on the proceedings of the event, XIMB says, “The event saw a total of 235 students graduating. While 122 students graduated from the Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Management (PGDM), 60 students graduated from the PGDM (Rural Management) programme. There were 52 students who graduated from the PGDM (Part time) programme. Mr.Srikant Panigrahy graduated from the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), the doctoral programme of XIMB.”

“For the PGDM Class of 2009, the C.M. Kandoi Gold Medals which have been instituted by Aditya Steel Industries were awarded to Ms.Lalitha Charanya Ganesh for securing first rank and Ms.Shikha Agarwal for securing second rank in order of merit. The Faculty Council Gold Medals were awarded to the next eight rank holders. The Orissa Jesuit Society Medal for Social & Ethical Perspective in Management as well as the Leeta Misra-Ankalkoti Gold Medal was won by Ms.Lalitha Charanya Ganesh. The NTPC Gold Medals were won by Vandana Lisa Scolt and Lalitha Charanya Ganesh,” further adds XIMB.
