The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) commenced the next batch of PGP program at its campus on June 23, 2009. The IIML PGP Chairman welcomed the new students at the inauguration ceremony, where they took a pledge. The Director and Deans of IIML addressed the students and introduced them with the teaching pedagogy of the MBA institute.
While sharing details of the commencement with MBAUniverse.com, IIML said that in order to inculcate ethical business practices and sound value system the MBA institute arranged for a workshop on ‘Indian Ethos, Values and Culture’ for the new students of the MBA program. The workshop was addressed by Swami Muktinathananda, President of Ramakrishna Math, and Prof Archana Shukla.
The workshop was followed by an ice breaking session where the students were familiarized with each other and with the faculty of the MBA institute. IIML told MBAUniverse.com, “On the first day of inauguration, the MBA program students of 2009-2011 interacted with Vinit S. Chauhan, President IIML Alumni Association, and Global Business Manager of JP Morgan.”
On June 24 and June 25, 2009 the new MBA program students were introduced with the case-study method of teaching the MBA institute practices. Various advantages of learning through case studies were discussed with the freshers by IIML Professors. The MBA institute also arranged classes on different topics like Preparing for Education and Career in Management, Essentials of Effective Communication, and Workshop on Global Warming & Climate Change.
An IIML spokesperson said, “The freshers were also provided with a high understanding on making and projecting their resumes the right way.” The spokesperson while talking to MBAUniverse.com said that the freshers at the MBA institute also got an opportunity to meet Lakshminarayana, Chief Strategy, and M&A Officer of Wipro. While congratulating the MBA program students for making it to IIML, Lakshminarayana spoke to them about his career and highlighted how IIML contributed to his career.
