In spite of the slowing economy, the great Indian MBA rush continues. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved 90 new MBA institutes, with 60 seats each, recently. This amounts to 5,400 more new seats in the management education sphere. All these institutes will provide AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program.

Incidentally, majority of these new MBA institutes have sprung up in the northern region of the country, in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Of these 90 new MBA institutes, 40 are in Uttar Pradesh alone! The rest are, however, spread across the country in North, East, West, Central and South. This comes as a good opportunity for MBA aspirants of neighbouring regions.

Remarkably, a lot of new institutions, societies/trusts have come up to take part in the great management education sector even in these uncertain times. They also cleared all norms laid out by the AICTE for providing MBA programs. However, it needs to be noted that getting the AICTE approval is not an easy task! A lot of MBA institutes in India are struggling for a long time to clear all tests and get AICTE’s approval for providing MBA programs.

A few well known institutes and educational societies/trusts, too, got AICTE approval. Some of the well known trusts that got AICTE's nod are Appejay Svran Institute of Management under Apeejay Education Society, Sai Balaji International Institute of Management Sciences under Sai Balaji Education Society, Indira Global Business School under Shree Chankya Education Society, CMS Global under Dr. K.N. Modi Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research Charitable Trust and Doon Business School-Global under Eskay Educational Trust.
