He received the Award at a function held in Ahmedabad.  

Padma Vibhushan Mr. M.S Swaminathan presented the Award to Mr. D’Souza. Mr. Swaminathan is well known as the Father of the Green Revolution in India.    

A product of IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Alan D’Souza, has had a chequered professional career spanning over three decades. He has worked in senior managerial positions in companies such as Boehringer Knoll, Glaxo, Shilpi and Mudra Communications. His longest stint has been with Mudra Communications where he last held the position of Executive Director. He now works with the Mudra Foundation for Communications Research and Education and currently holds the position of Acting Dean, MICORE.  

Mr. D’Souza is also a Founder member of MICA, the leading communications school in the country. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. D’Souza attributed his success to the strong values inculcated in him by his parents and support from the family.

The AMA-Metrochem Outstanding Manager of the Year Award 2006 describes the award “to recognize the significant contributions made by a person in a managerial position, to motivate upcoming professionals and enhance the prestige of the profession by enabling them to exercise their skills and competencies in the best possible manner and to directly or indirectly contribute towards the managerial effectiveness in different spheres.”

The Mudra Institute of Communications Research (MICORE) was founded by the Mudra Foundation for Communications Research and Education in 2006 with the vision to be India’s pre-eminent research institution in its field. Its focus areas include Integrated Marketing Communications, Entertainment, Journalism, Social and Developmental Communications and Semiotics.
