CAT 2011 started from Saturday, October 22, 2011 without any major glitch. Prometric mentions that 5,690 candidates out of total 2.05 lakh registered candidates have taken the test on the first day of CAT 2011.
Prof. Janakiraman Moorthy, CAT 2011 Convener and IIM Calcutta faculty mentioned that there has not been any major issue reported. “The Day 1 of CAT 2011 has been taken by 5,690 candidates and no major technical issues have been reported. The overall difficulty level has been reported as tough.”
Soumitra Roy, Managing Director, Prometric India mentioned, “We are pleased that the first day of testing got off to a good start and will continue to be focused on providing candidates with the best possible experience.”
Advising the candidates who are scheduled to take the test in the coming days, Roy said, “Candidates are reminded to check their test centre information and travel plans, and arrive at least one-and-a-half hours before their scheduled test time with their Admit Card and valid photo identification. The UID card has now been added to the list of approved photo identification types that is available on the CAT website. Candidates are also advised to check their emails and the CAT website regularly in case of any important updates from Prometric.”
Prof. Moorthy advised the candidates to prepare well for the upcoming dates. “Concentrate on your preparation. Don’t worry about any other issues while preparing or writing the test. Make sure you don’t forget to carry the important documents.”
CAT 2011 is being conducted in 68 test centers across 36 cities in India. The test is being held in a 20 day window starting from Saturday, October 22, 2011 to Friday, November 18, 2011.
