IGNITE 2016 showcased the hidden talent of young minds and brought out ingenious students
The 5th Annual Techno Legal Management Fest witnessed over 120 events organized by three colleges of the University with attracting participation crossing over 4500 across the nation. This year’s theme was inspired by the campaign “Make in India” that our beloved Prime Minister Honorable Sh. Narendra Modi enthusiastically started. As a result most of the events were mapped towards this theme, to ignite young minds to make in India. With more than 100 events distributed among the three constituent colleges i.e. College of Engineering Studies, College of Legal Studies and College of Management & Economics Studies, IGNITE 2016 showcased the hidden talent of young minds and brought out ingenious students. The best of the brains from all domains who came together on a common platform and exhibited unmatched talent.

Of the 121 events organised throughout the course of the event, 76 were from the engineering college, 15 from the legal department and 30 from the management college. Some of the most renounced colleges of this year were Symbiosis Law School Pune, Delhi University, School of Law, Sastra University, Amity Law School both Delhi and Lucknow, Government Law College Of Law- Panjim, NLIU- Bhopal, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun Institute of Technology- Dehradun, Graphic Era, College of Engineering-Roorkee, NLU-Odisha, School of Law, Christ University-Banglore, National Law School of India University-Banglore, Jindal Global Law School-Delhi, Faculty of Law-Luckhnow University, Law School,Banaras Hindu University-Varanasi,NLIU-Bhopal, Institute of Law, Nirma University-Ahemdabad, University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha-Delhi, Government Law University.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Shri R.S. Meena, Additional Director General of Police (Administration), Uttrakhand, who spoke about the importance of hard work, the sanctity of the ‘Make in India’ initiative by the government of India in 2014. He spoke about China being a big economy from where India exports goods.

The crowd puller events of College of Engineering were Robowar-where the BOT(ROBOTS) were operated manually and they had to face off others BOTS in arena. Among other notable events which drew attraction of students were Survival of Fittest, Hackathon, Robo War, RC Avioyo, Robo Soccer, Water Warriors, Robo Pin Ball, automobile design skills and many more to name a few. The events of College of Legal Studies were no less. They drove interest and participation nationwide. Events such as Techno-Legal-moot was 1st ever of its kind happening where teams from all over nation attempted to solve the disputes that happens when technology coincides with legality. One of the event Paper Presentation provided the opportunity to students and researchers alike, to present and enlighten the world with design, abstraction and ideas. Youth Parliament another event in row gave a high crowd response which involved simulation of legislative proceedings where young minds met to discuss the nuances of law-making and beyond. When the two colleges were on the same par how could College of Management stay less. It came up with out of the box events such as Kaun Banega Supply Chain Manager-where a quiz and presentation in light of supply chain scenario for Make in India took place, then Brand Maniacs- event focused on the managerial aspects of the student. Bizarre logo and business quiz was an event where event was purely based upon how well you see advertisement and possess knowledge of the companies.

Apart from these competitive events, on a cultural night was also organized which relieved everyone from the day hard work and brought out some amazing talented dancers and singers of UPES. The team Xeleration who is the official dance group of UPES and Vultus another dance group of UPES performed and left the atmosphere with sound of claps and air full of energy. The faculties were also part of this colourful evening.
