IFIM Bangalore introduces 'international immersion' in PDGM-IB

IFIM, Bangalore has introduced a full term of 'international immersion' for its upcoming batch of PGDM- IB.

IFIM Business School, Bangalore has introduced a full term of ‘international immersion’ for its upcoming batch of PGDM- International Business programme.

According to the institute, the three-and-a-half month long ‘international immersion’ term beginning in 2014 aims at making PGDM-IB course truly global in its perspective and helping students with cross-cultural learning.

Dr. Madhumita Chatterji, Dean-Student Lifecycle at IFIM, says, “We have made the term-abroad a regular, mandatory feature of our PGDM-IB program.”

“This will not only make the program truly international, but the tracks are also designed on enhancing employability of the students in areas where there are high growth opportunities,” she added.

The institute offers 60 seats in its two-year Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management - International Business (PGDM-IB) Programme.

The term starting from next year will begin from September 1 and end on December 15. According to the institute, there will not be any extra cost for the term except travelling and boarding that will be borne by individuals.

The students would be given an option to pursue this term at two leading international business schools - ESC Rennes School of Business, near Paris, France, with a focus on ‘Global Luxury Business & Retailing’; and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Business, Richmond, USA, with a focus on ‘International Marketing & Strategy’.  These international immersion programs are part of the MOU’s signed by IFIM Business School with these leading global institutes which are accredited by AACSB.

According to the institute, the program curriculum of PGDM-IB aims at providing a comprehensive coverage of all relevant disciplines and international business activity like International Finance, International marketing and International HRM.  The program follows a pedagogy that has a blend of theory and practical like case studies, take home assignments, industry visits, research and international study programme etc.
