To cater to the growing talent scarcity in India's booming sectors like Retail, Financial Services and other industries, Mumbai based IMS Learning has announced aggressive launch of its job oriented education institute christened IMS Proschool.

Sharing information with MBAUniverse.com, IMS Learning said that its first Financial Planning programme under the IMS Proschool banner is already in operation and will be taken to 40 cities. More programmes in sectors like retail, marketing analytics are in the offing.

Said IMS Learning, "To address the requirements of entry level jobs, we have create 3-6 month programs focused on narrow technical and communication skills. We have already introduced the first program in the area of Financial Planning. This program imparts technical skills in the areas of investment, insurance, taxation, estate and retirement planning as well as trains students on business communication and selling skills. We plan to launch this program in 40 cities and produce 2500 students annually."

Talking about other programmes in the offing, the company informed, "We are convinced there is a huge need for similar programs in the areas of financial analytics, retail, marketing analytics etc. and we will launch these soon."

Sharing the rationale for setting up IMS Proschool, the company said, "We need to appreciate that having industry relevant skills today is more crucial than earning meaningless degrees. Industry needs two things from its entry level executives: one, they need large numbers therefore we need more scalable and quicker education delivery mechanism. Two, they need people to have specific, job relevant skills. It means we need courses that are narrow but relatively deeper and specifically targeted towards a particular job."

Offering the vision behind the launch of IMS, the company said, "The vision for IMS ProSchool is to create professionals to support the growing Indian economy. Its objective is to help young professional take advantage of emerging careers by adding relevant skills in the shortest time frame."

Company says IMS ProSchool programs will be available in 40 cities across the country.
