So if you are planning to switch courses, wish to opt for M.tech, M.com or any other course and are no more interested to pursue MBA, then wait! Hear us out. Chances are, you have not been able to see the full picture.

Now, just because your other MBA friends cannot get high salary packages or just because the MBA college near your home is not able to fill its quota of seats or because you have heard in CNN IBN or BBC news that the world is on the brink of another economic disaster, you are adamant on forgetting to do MBA?

The course which you always wanted to do to get a white collar job, the course which lets you use your brain and innovate ideas rather than follow old age methods, the course which can help you do what you always wanted to do plus getting all the bucks you want (entrepreneurship) is still the same course- Master of Business Administration (MBA).

MBA aspirants, let me bring forth some interesting points and facts which will strengthen our above belief and will resonate the importance of MBA degree for your life.

- Even Bill Gates needs MBAs

Although it’s true that you don’t require MBA degree to be Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or Tata’s, but to run a company like Microsoft, Apple, TATA you definitely need MBAs, a lot of MBAs. Because you need a certain kind of intelligence to handle and run a business, which, my dear aspirant is provided only by MBA degree.

Sure, we all must dream of being Mark Zuckerberg or Gates or those legends who achieved a lot without MBA degree. But, think about it! Which is more realistic to be dreamt of; being 1 in a million or being the 1 in every company? The above greats are born rarely but you can be the next VP, Senior VP, AVP, MD, and all those fancy designation which you find in every organization and by the way they earn a way lot bucks than you can imagine!

Hence, if you think you can’t have the resources and the zeal to be an entrepreneur at the starting, leave it, Be the next Indra Nooyi or Deepak Parekh or Raghav Bahl and who knows you might start your own organization someday. Challenge your limits!

- More Employers are hiring MBAs

More companies plan to hire MBAs and other business school graduates in 2014, according to a global survey of employers out today. Some 80 percent of business school recruiters plan to hire MBAs in 2014, up seven percentage points from last year and 30 percentage points higher than 2009, in the heart of the economic crisis, when just half of employers hired MBAs.

The 13th annual Corporate Recruiters Survey of 565 employers from 44 countries was conducted in February and March by the Graduate Management Admission Council, which administers the GMAT exam on behalf of business and management programs worldwide. The survey, including 32 of the top 100 companies in the FT 500 and 36 of the Fortune 100, was conducted in partnership with EFMD and the MBA Career Services and Employer Association.

MBAUniverse.com had already predicted that getting an MBA in 2016 may shower great career opportunities as the iceberg of economic slowdown would have melted by then.

- Degree that lets you know about yourself too

I have known students enrolling in MBA degree just because they don’t know what to do after graduation. They are afraid of competition and intelligence of doing Masters and on the other hand they won’t be able to land a good job just on the basis of their graduation degree. So, they join MBA programme just for an excuse of not wasting a year.

But, the beauty of MBA course magnetize them as they come to know the different facets of business, leadership, organizational skills, behavioral approach. They get attracted by the magnitude and resemblance of this degree in their day-to-day life whether as a customer or a lender or a buyer or an owner. They now know the reason behind why we behave in such a manner in a particular situation and how to deal with troublesome situations in the organization.

It’s a fact that we all have to work one day or the other to earn money for our family and dependants. Now, it’s a different thing whether we choose to work for someone on remuneration or become an entrepreneur, no matter what you choose, MBA is the degree which will guide you throughout your life of every nuances of business and organization.

- Preferred Job Requirement

Go and check any job portal, whether it’s naukri.com, timesjob, linkedin or monster.com, one thing is very much common in all decent jobs or mid- senior level jobs; they all highlight ‘MBA degree preferred’ in their Job Description.

Now, if MBA is not worth doing, why do you think the companies are adamant to hire an MBA? They all can’t be wrong at the same time, right!

Sure, MBA might not be the essential requirement of few jobs but ‘preferred’ tagline clearly states the value this degree offers to the organization. A person with an MBA degree (Mind you from a good B-school) is assumed to possess allthe business acumen that an organization expects from its employees.

So, if you want your Resume to be among the top favorites of HR panel, Go for MBA!

 - The most customizable Degree

MBA is a degree which will let you be the master of one or jack of all trades, whichever hat you choose to wear.

If you have interests in debits and credits, taxing, accounts, then choose a specialization in Finance. If acquiring targets, selling dreams, chasing revenue targets, Innovative ideas, excites you, choose Marketing. If you like meeting new people, if you like managing people, policy making, rules/regulations is your forte, then go for Human Resource (HR).
The more varied your qualities and abilities are, the more customized the MBA degree gets. You can do MBA in Jewel Designing, Supply chain, Inventory Management, IT, Merchandising, Infrastructure, Environment, you name it.

No other professional or PG degree has this much of flexibility in terms of providing you not only the in depth knowledge and skills but also excellent Job prospects and remuneration.

- MBA is needed in every sector, every season

My above point already highlights the scope of MBA in various sectors. The importance of MBA can be judged by the fact that there is a mad race among working Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Professors, Accountants to get an MBA degree. Why?

Because believe it or not MBA degree gives you the thrust to go higher in your organization, to gain few more steps towards your ultimate goal of good job and nice salary. Employees eye promotions, higher paid designation, more responsibility, more authority and lastly a higher status in the society with just one Degree.

Surely, it depends on the person as to how he utilizes the knowledge gained during MBA course in his work and in his organization but definitely MBA degree is worth a shot.

-  Key to Instant fame

If all my above points don’t make you come out of your dilemma, then perhaps this one might be your cup of tea!

If you are among those few who just want fame, who just want to be get noticed, who want to be the talk of town, then hey, MBA degree can do that too!

Dear Aspirants, no matter what you dream of achieving in your career, no matter what you do, remember you have to fulfill not only yours but also your family’s dreams and ambitions, the expectations of your dependants.
