Leading ITES organization and part of USD 3 billion RPG group, Zensar Technologies has announced the launch of a One year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Business Transformation.

This programme is aimed at creating skilled resources for the high growth sectors of Retail, Operations and Financial Services. The courses will be offered through Zensar Center for Business Innovation (ZCBI) in Pune. The course will commence from next year.

The One Year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Business Transformation aims at combining technology and architecture skills with business analysis concepts in chosen industries. Zensar Technologies is the founder and key partner to this Centre for Business Innovation.

Announcing this in Pune, Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Global CEO of Zensar who is also the Convener of the ZCBI said, "We are delighted that many global corporations and Indian multinationals have come forward to support the programme through curriculum co-creation and assurances of well paid jobs even before participants complete the program."

Speaking at the launch, Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani Joint MD of Kinetic Engineering and a member of the Board of Advisors for the programme said, "I am delighted that a long felt need of the manufacturing industry is being served through this unique program".

Mr. Kirit Shah CIO of Landmark-Lifestyle group Dubai added, "The three chosen areas are high growth sectors in India and abroad and every successful participant will be grabbed by key companies in each segment. We at Lifestyle have committed to take half the first batch of 100 participants for our global retail expansion at the starting management salary of INR 6 lakhs."

ZCBI will commence the first programme in March of 2008 and all successful participants will be expected to have first rate academic credentials and at least a year of relevant work experience, informs Zensar. The admission process commences in December 2007.

Dr Nikhil Agarwal, Director of ZCBI, said, "The strength of the One Year PGP is faculty, curriculum and strong industry support. The curriculum for the One Year PGP is co-designed by senior industry experts & leaders from academic community, keeping in mind the current global trends. The faculty is drawn from leading universities like Stephen M Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, European Business School to name a few".

ZCBI is an autonomous research & innovation center for Zensar Technologies. Zensar & RPG are one of the oldest companies in India with history of over 70 years. Some of the sister companies are CEAT, Sa-Re-Ga-Ma HMV Music, Spencer's Retail. According to Zensar, the scope of activites of ZCBI is very broad -- from leadership development to research in enterpreneurship models. Some of the recent projects undertaken by ZCBI include Development of Solution Blueprint Framework (SBP), Establishment of Centers for Excellence (CoE) in India, China, UK and Poland, Collaborative research on the Entrepreneurship Models with a Center for Entrepreneurship at University of Essex, UK and Nasscom Human Resource Development Initiatives.

Talking about philosophy behind the Business Transformation Programme, Dr. Agarwal of ZCBI says, "The huge talent shortage is evident in almost all sectors of the industry. For instance, in the IT industry, current projections indicate that by 2010, the IT industry alone may face a shortfall of 500,000 professionals, unless proactive steps are taken. A majority of these are unsuitable because they lack soft skills, particularly communication skills, which are essential for all service industries like Investment Banking, Retail, Operations & IT."
