Admission process for the session 2015-16 to the flagship AICTE approved PGDM programme at Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) has been announced. Approximately 11 to 14 thousand aspirants apply to explore admission opportunity at IRMA.

Registration dates

The application forms for IRMA admissions will be available online from September 15th, 2014 onwards. Applicants desirous of seeking admission in management programmes at IRMA will have to hurry up as the B school proposes to close the process on Dec 15, 2014.

Admission process

IRMA will use CAT 2014 scores for admission to 2015-17 Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PRM) and 2015 Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM). A good CAT 2014 percentile may pave your way to admission in PGDM programme at IRMA. However, IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme of IRMA

Aspirants have to appear in IRMA test as well

Getting through CAT 2014 is not sufficient enough to secure admission in IRMA.  According to the institute all applicants who apply to IRMA with CAT 2014 score will appear for IRMA admissions test on “Issues of Social Concern” subject to their application forms being complete and accepted by IRMA.

The test on ‘Issues of Social Concern’ has negative marking also which an aspirant should note.

Intake at IRMA

IRMA proposes to offer admission to 180 students to flagship PRM programme. In case the seats are increased, more candidates will be able to explore admission opportunity at IRMA.

Eligibility Criteria

A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST/differently abled person) aggregate marks at the graduation level can apply for admission. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution. Those who are in the final year and who expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before July, 2015 can also apply.

There is no age limit to apply for the admission in flagship management programme at IRMA.

Placement at IRMA

There were 75 recruiters who participated in placement season 2014. 33 participants opted out of placement process and 117 participants who participated were placed in 44 companies in placement 2014. Average salary stood at more than Rs.7 lakhs per annum

IRMA was set up in 1979 with a mission to professionalise management of rural producers' organisations and create a body of knowledge in the field of rural management. IRMA is now focused and is recognised as a centre of teaching and research in rural management.  IRMA has reached out to the rural sector through development organisations engaged with various issues of rural life including natural resource management.

At IRMA the participants go through a tough curriculum which has the unique feature of placing them with development organisations in rural areas in three separate segments during the two year programme.
