Common Admission Test (CAT) 2014, gateway to PGDM programmes to premier B schools like IIMs, SPJIMR, MDI, IMT is scheduled to be held on November 16 and November 22, 2014 across 99 test cities in India. CAT 2014 aspirants apart from registering and appearing in CAT 2014 have to apply to these B schools to seek admission in session 2015-16.
Management Development Institute(MDI) Gurgaon one of the top rated B schools that accept CAT scores for admission in PGDM programmes will start its online admission process for Post Graduate Programmes (PGPM, PGP-HRM, PGP-IM 2015 Batch) on September 5, 2014, the teacher’s day. It has specifically been informed that the admissions in MDI will only be through CAT 2014. Admission process will remain open till November 14, 2014, the Children’s day.
MDI has further specified that for Admission to Executive Post Graduate Programmes (NMP & PGP-EM 2015 Batch), 15 month residential programme, minimum 5 years work experience will be required. However candidates exploring admission opportunities to Executive Programmes have the choice of appearing in MDI test or CAT 2014. The admission process for these programmes shall start on September 5, 2014 and will close on November 28, 2014.
Other such highly ranked private B schools like SPJIMR, IMT, BIMTECH, TAPMI who will accept CAT 2014 scores for admission session 2015-16 are also expected to begin their admission process shortly.
CAT is the largest MBA/PGDM entrance computer based exam for admission session 2015-16. The test is going to be conducted in two days in four sessions on the above mentioned dates as against earlier 20 days 40 session test window. IIM Indore is convening CAT 2014 in partnership with testing agency TCS.
CAT 2014 Registration closes on Sep 30, 2014
The last date for CAT 2014 registration is September 30, 2014. Around 2 lakhs aspirants are expected to register for CAT 2014. High percentile in CAT 2014 will not only provide an opportunity to get admission in 19 IIMs but also in highly ranked private B schools like MDI Gurgaon, SPJIMR, Mumbai, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI Manipal, BIMTECH Greater Noida and many more.
CAT 2014 Exam: significant changes
CAT 2014 will be a computer based test. There will be 2 sections with 50 questions each. The time limit to solve the 100 questions on Quant, DI, Verbal and LR shall be 170 minutes. CAT 2014 aspirants will have the freedom to move from section to other within overall time frame. The result for CAT 2014 test are expected to be announced in the 3rd week of December 2014.
