NMAT-2015 second day was not much different from the first day except that fewer candidates reported for test. The computer-delivered test in which each candidate got a randomly generated exam from a pool of questions on October 8, 2014 had a few twisted questions also. Although candidates had a choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections, each section had an individual time limit and candidates needed to complete answering the questions and reviewing the section within the allotted section time.  Since the number of questions and time limit of the test sections are predetermined and remain the same regardless of when and where the test is administered. The computer displays questions one at a time. Only after a candidate takes an action on the first question, will the computer display the next question.

The test was moderate

Out of 120 multiple-choice questions a few questions were tricky and more time consuming. Since there is no negative marking most of the candidates preferred to attempt all the questions. Number of candidates did some guess work when the 5 minutes warning signal in the section began flashing. Still you will need a high score to stand in merit.

At some of the centres questions were taking time to get loaded on the screen which caused anxiety among the NMAT 2015 test takers.

Those who made genuine attempts to solve 70-75 questions may hope for a good position in merit. Exam despite having a bit different type of questions was doable. The level of difficulty in NMAT on Oct 8, 2014 remained  moderate overall.

Language Skills

While the questions and their types cannot be disclosed due to non disclosure agreement, most of the questions in this section were based on fundamentals of English language like core grammar topics usage on Parts of speech, tenses, conditionals, Reported speech, Synonyms, antonyms, fill in the blanks type. The RC passages were short and doable.

Jumbled paragraphs of moderate order also appeared in this section. 32 questions in this section had to be solved in 22 minutes.

Logical Reasoning

Questions on Logical Reasoning on second day of NMAT appeared on different topics with a mix of Verbal and Critical Reasoning. The questions were based on assumptions, conclusions, family tree, coding, series, direction sense, syllogism, arrangements. 40 questions in this section were supposed to be completed in 38 minutes.

Quantitative Skills

You cannot move to next question in NMAT till action is taken on the present question nor you can view all the questions in one go. Hence questions on Quantitative skills in NMAT are to be carefully attempted by properly scrolling the bar in desired direction. Besides the warning signal before 5 minutes of sectional time limit is flashed once and you will have to keep the track to answer all the questions in the section within prescribed time limit. As reported by the candidates the questions in this section were based not only on Quant but also were related to data Interpretation and data sufficiency. Major topics in this section were on Algebra, Numbers, PnC, Geometry and modern math. This section had 48 questions and had to be solved in 60 minutes.

NMAT 2015 has started on October 7 and will continue till December 20, 2014. A candidate is allowed to take the NMAT—2015, a maximum of three times (first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts, including no shows). You can schedule the retake test on a date, which is 15 or more days after the most recent date of attempt. In other words, you will have to wait for at least 15 calendar days before you can appear for a retake attempt. You can schedule your test any time during the retake scheduling window (subjected to real time availability) for any slot which is a minimum of 24 hours later than the time you carry out the scheduling transaction in Pearson VUE system.
