In this interview with IIM CAT Group spokesperson Ashish K Bhattacharyya tells us about the shortlists drawn by IIM-C and the details of GD/PI rounds.

Q: How many total seats are there in Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta for Post Graduate Programme in Management for batch to be admitted in Summer of 2008?

A: There are 300 seats available at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta for Post Graduate Programme in Management for 2008.

Q: What are the total numbers of students shorlisted by IIM-C for GD/PI round?

A: In total there are 993 shortlisted candidates by IIM C. The Category-wise break up is as follows:
  • Open 783;
  • SC 157;
  • ST 41;
  • and PWD 17.
 

Q: Can you please share more details about the shortlisted candidates….

A: Yes. Out of total 993 candidates shortlisted by IIM C, 903 are engineers. There are in total 61 women candidates.

Q: What criteria does IIM-C used to shorlist the candidates in CAT 2007?

A: Kindly visit IIMC web site. In the Admission section under notifications the process is explained.

Q: What are the dates for GD/PI rounds for the shorlisted candidates in IIM-C?

A: GD PI round at IIM C will be held in the middle of March, tentatively from March 13, 2008.

Q: When will the final admission list be declared after GD/PI round?

A: We expect the final admissions list to be out by first week of May 2008.
