IRMA will use CAT 2015/XAT 2016 scores for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management 2016-18 (PRM 2016-18)

The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA 2016) a pioneering academic institution in rural management education and research has announced the admission 2016 application process for flagship PRM and other programmes to open from Oct 1, 2015.

IRMA 2016 will use CAT 2015/XAT 2016 scores for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management 2016-18 (PRM 2016-18) and Fellow Programme in Rural Management 2016 (FPRM 2016).
Application forms whether online on hard copy for IRMA 2016 admissions will be available from October 01, 2015 onwards.

All applicants for IRMA 2016 Admissions have to additionally appear for “Issues of Social Concern” test.

Although IRMA 2016 will use CAT 2015 and XAT 2016 scores to shortlist candidates, either IIMs or XLRI have no role in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme of IRMA 2016.

Flagship programme at IRMA
The flagship programme offered at IRMA is 2 years full time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PRM). Launched in 1980, PRM is meant for college graduates who would wish to take on challenging managerial responsibilities in institutions working in the rural sector. The PRM is recognized as equivalent to a Master's degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

Apart from the PRM, IRMA also offers Doctoral Level Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM). Launched in 2002, FPRM is meant for post graduates and/ or professional college graduates with 3 years of work experience, who would wish to pursue doctoral level studies in rural management.

Intake at IRMA
The Intake to PRM 2016-18 at IRMA is 180. Fifteen percent of the approved intake is allocated for admission to overseas applicants.

IRMA: Eligibility to apply 

1. The candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.

2. The candidate must have minimum 3 year’s Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) and completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree by June 15, 2016 can also apply.

3. The basis for computing the percentage obtained by the candidate would be based on the practice followed by the university/ institution/board from where the candidate has obtained the degree/certificate. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution/board from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree/certificate.

Application process opens Oct 1

Applicants can apply online or offline by opting for one of the following options:

1. Apply online and pay through payment gateway.

2. Take a print out of SBI challan available on IRMA website in the admission link. Make payment at any branch of SBI by using the challan. SBI would then issue a unique ID number. Use this unique ID number and apply online through IRMA website.

3. Printed application material (prospectus, application forms) may be obtained from Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand - 388 001 on payment of full fees. The payment to IRMA should be made in the form of a demand draft favouring ‘IRMA’ and it should be payable at “Anand”.

Application fee
Applicants need to fill only single application form.  There is a common application form for PRM and FPRM programmes. An applicant may apply for 2 programmes by using one application form.. Those candidates applying online by using payment gateway / Payment at SBI may get discount of Rs.75/-. The fees applicable for the number of programmes are as below

Examination fees for Online Applicant
For One programme the application fee is Rs.1200/- and for 2 programmes, the fee is Rs. 1600/-

Examination fees for Applying in hard copy
For one programme the fee is Rs.1275/- and for 2 programmes the fee is Rs. 1675/-

Last date to apply for PRM 2016-18
Last Date for receipt of filled in applications for PRM 2016-18 is proposed to close in the first week of December 2015 and for hard copies it is expected to be on December 31, 2015.

Admit Card for IRMA admission test
IRMA will send the Admit Card for IRMA’s test (online) on “Issues of Social Concern (ISC)” to be conducted in the last week of January, 2016 to all eligible applicants in the third week of January 2015. If the applicants do not receive the admit card by 20th January 2016 then she/he can download it from IRMA website by using her/his form number or roll number.

Selection Process at IRMA
All Indian applicants will appear for the CAT 2015/XAT 2016 and IRMA's test (online) on "Issues of Social Concern" scheduled in the last week of January 2016. The scores will be combined in the selection process.

PRM participants are selected on the basis of the Admissions Test, Group Activity, and Personal Interview. It is compulsory for applicants to appear for CAT 2015 or XAT 2016 and "Issues of Social Concern (ISC)" of IRMA. The combined score will be considered for the selection process of PRM 2016-18. There will be separate cut offs for CAT 2015 score/XAT 2016 score and ISC score and total score.

Test Centres for IRMA's test (online) on "Issues of Social Concern"
IRMA's online test on "Issues of Social Concern" will be conducted in 27 test cities across India. Any request for change in test centre after exercising the option and submission of application form will not be entertained.

IRMA Test: Key facts

1. ‘Issues of Social concern’ will be an online test.

2. There will be 40 questions in the admissions test of "Issues of Social Concern".

3. The duration of admissions test on "Issues of Social Concern" will be 1 hour 20 minutes.

4. The test will have negative marking system.

The result for the exam conducted by IRMA on ‘Issues of Social Concern’ after clubbing the scores of CAT 2015/XAT 2016 will be declared in the month of February 2016. After the shortlisting process, the candidates will be called for PI round and the final result will be declared sometime in th month of March 2016.
