CAT 2015 registration closed at 11.59 PM on September 25, 2015 after remaining open for 51 days from Aug 6, 2015. CAT Centre 2015 although has not shared the exact number of registered candidates for CAT 2015, a dip in registration from the past year is expected.
Candidates were expecting to have yet another extension in CAT 2015 registration date but their wish was not fulfilled by CAT Centre 2015 as it refused to extend the registration date any further even for a day.
It is expected that registration count may not cross the number of 1.97 lakhs candidates registered for CAT 2014. While the last but one week before closing the CAT 2015 registration process on Sep 25 reflected a sharp increase in number of registrations from 92000 to 1.60 lakhs, the last five days saw a marginal increase in numbers and it appears the registration number in CAT 2015 remained marginally behind the last year volume.
MBAUniverse.com had already conveyed as from the CAT 2015 convener that there would be no further extension in CAT 2015 registration date. Candidates who tried to register early in the morning on Sep 26, 2015 got the following message from CAT Centre 2015 “The Form will be available only between 06-08-2015 09 Hours 50 Minutes to 25-09-2015 23 Hours 55 Minutes”

Registration for CAT 2015 was opened on August 6 and was supposed to be closed on Sep 20, 2015. But due to certain reasons IIM Ahmedabad further extended the last date of CAT 2015 registration for another 5 days till Sep 25, 2015. CAT 2015 registration and exam pattern has gone through tremendous changes. Number of firsts have taken place in CAT 2015 exam structure and contents. Candidates registering for CAT 2015 didn’t have the facility of self scheduling of test, choosing the date and time slot.
CAT 2015 is a computer based test to be held on Nov 29, 2015 in 2 sessions with a time duration of 3 hours in each session. There 136 test cities and 650 testing venues where the exam will be conducted across the country.
