IIFT Placement 2016: 4 students grab Rs.1 crore plus package-average salary up; achieves100% Placement in 7 days

IIFT has achieved 100% placement 2016 in 7 days for a batch of 254 students out of which 4 have been offered salary above Rs.1 crore per annum
Highlight of the Placement Process is the rise in foreign offers from 13 last year to 15 this year as foreign companies based in US, Singapore Middle-East, Nigeria & Australia have opted for IIFTians

Completing the entire placement 2016 process in 7 days for a batch of 254 students as compared to 219 students last year, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has again achieved 100% placement in final campus placement 2016 with high national and international salary packages. Four students of IIFT have grabbed annual package of USD 1,50,000 (Rs 1 crore plus) as compared to placement 2015 wherein the highest package was of USD 110,000.

The placement process 2016 at IIFT has been one of the fastest ones among the B schools in the country. In fact number of top rated B schools have not yet been able to complete the placement 2016. Dr. Surajit Mitra, Director of IIFT attributes the achievement to contributions made by faculty.

IIFT has indicated its standing as one of the leading B‐Schools of the country by concluding final placements for the Batch of 2014-2016 in record time. The highlight of the Placement Process is the rise in foreign offers from 13 last year to 15 this year as  foreign companies based in US, Singapore Middle-East, Nigeria & Australia have opted for IIFTians

High International Packages
The highest salary has gone up to US$ 150,000 in placement 2016 as compared to US$110000 in placement 2015 recording a rise of around 37%.

International placement offers were made by reputed companies like Olam International, TGI Group, Bhatia Brothers, Bajaj Auto and Godrej, AluZinc Asia, Louis Dreyfus, Swiss Singapore among others.

Higher Domestic packages
Making a perfect example that economic slow down in MBA placement is over in India, the domestic highest packages in IIFT placement 2016 have gone up from Rs. 24 lakhs in 2015 to Rs. 29 lakhs in 2016 showing a rise of 21%. The average compensation stands at Rs.18.01 lakhs in placement 2016.

Top Recruiters at IIFT
Top recruiters in IIFT placement 2016 are Amazon, Cognizant Business Consulting, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Vodafone, IDFC Bank, Wipro, HCL, Citibank, ICICI Bank among others. New recruiters are Nivea, Pernod Ricard, 3M, British Telecom, Tata Sky, Synergy Consulting, General Motors, TGI Group, IDFC Bank.

25% of the batch was hired by the Banking, financial services and Insurance (BFSI) sector becoming the largest recruiting sector.

A 36% rise in pre-placement offers (PPOs) was observed in Placement 2016 with one fourth of the batch receiving PPOs over the last year.

Technology giants like Google, HP, SAP India, IBM, Hexaware and Adobe also recruited at IIFT.

Flipkart, Amazon, ShopClues, CarDekho, Bluestone and Play games24x7 from e-Commerce sector also hired from IIFT.
