Hero Mindmine Summit draws out the agenda for 'Reinventing Indian Business'

As the world changes, as India's aspirations grow, as Indians seek a new identity for themselves, Indian businesses face a new agenda.

They need to rediscover and reinvent themselves in not one, but in several different ways. Noticing this fact Hero Mindmine Institute Ltd, a leading training and consulting organization, organized its third annual summit on 'Reinventing Indian Business: Agenda for Today' on February 7 and 8 in the Capital. The two-day summit was inaugurated by Mr. Tejendra Khanna, Lieutenant Governor, Delhi.  

The summit debated the pressing issues concerning India's talent challenges to help Indian businesses reinvent themselves, and the challenges distinctively unique to India, the infrastructure deficit, the changing Indian management and more.  

Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Services during his opening remark said, "It is essential that India addresses its current ethical, social and civic challenges to make India a more responsible global citizen." 

The day one of summit was divided in five sessions to discuss the issues Re-invention: Why the rush, Can Indian Companies be truly Global, Re-invention: of the Individual Indian and Re-invention: Role of Financial Institutions. On the occasion the summit also awarded the BML Munjal Awards For Excellence in Learning & Development. 

While addressing the summit, Mr. Tejendra Khanna, Lieutenant Governor, Delhi in his inaugural address said, "Ethical professionalism will be an essential quality that Indians and Indian businesses need to employ to ensure that we are deriving the maximum of the Indian advantage." 

Mr. Analjit Singh, Chairman, Max India, the keynote speaker for the Summit, said, "It is essential for India to rejuvenate its Soul, Society and Soil. This would be the preferred way to regain parts of our global market share held three centuries ago. He stressed on the need for such industry led debates to help get a thinking view of issues." 

Other eminent speakers on the occasions included Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai, CEO & Country Head, HSBC India, Mr. Alan Rosling, Executive Director, Tata Sons Mr. Vikram S. Mehta, Chairman, The Shell Group of Companies in India, Mr. S.K. Roongta, Chairman, SAIL, Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Co-Chairman, Infosys and Dr. Vinayshil Gautam, Founder Director IIM (K), Professor IIT (D). 

Speaking on reinvention in changing geopolitical system, Vikram S Mehta said that energy and environment are two fundamental issues, which need to be looked into for business to move forward and grow in a sustainable manner. 

Whereas, according to Dr Vinayshil Gautam education is the major issue for people to re-invent themselves. He is also of opined that companies need to follow corporate governance, first and foremost, to reinvent.
