Fulfilling the long pending demand of establishing an IIM in Delhi, IIM Sambalpur has taken the initiative and has opened its new campus in South Delhi on May 6, 2023. Despite being the National Capital, New Delhi so far did not have any Indian Institute of Management (IIM), although the National Capital Region (NCR) nearby had IIM Rohtak and IIM Lucknow campus at Noida. IIM Sambalpur New Delhi campus is housed in the Vasant Kunj Industrial Area in South Delhi in The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID) campus.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur, a new generation IIM is a promising and premium management institute. It plans to conduct short as well as long-duration executive and other programs in management from the new ISID campus, drawing upon the ISID infrastructure as well as its faculties. The objective is to cater to working professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs who want to pursue management studies. At the New Delhi campus, IIM Sambalpur will also offer dual degree MBA option from international universities. The classes will be conducted on weekends without disturbing the respective trade and profession of working professionals.
Speaking at the IIM Sambalpur New Delhi campus, Opening Ceremony, Dr. Subhas Sakar, Minister of State for Education, Government of India said, “I congratulate IIM Sambalpur for taking this crucial initiative to support the startup ecosystem in the country. IIM Sambalpur Launches 2 Years Hybrid MBA at New Delhi Campus
IIM Sambalpur has announced a new two-year hybrid MBA program specifically for working professionals, strategic leaders, and entrepreneurs having a minimum experience of 3 years. Key highlights of the programme are:
- Dual Degree from International B-Schools: 2-year MBA degree program will be offered at IIM Sambalpur Delhi campus with an option of Dual degree from Sorbonne Business School, Paris, France; Institute of International Universities Consortium (IIE), Paris, France; and University of Bordeaux, France. International Immersion will be a key attraction
- Program in Blended Mode: Hybrid MBA is offered in a blended mode, with the option of obtaining a dual degree from international universities as per the latest NEP

Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur was set up by Govt. of India in 2015 and became the Institute of National Importance as per the IIM 2017 Act. Since its inception, the institute has already taken positive steps for Entrepreneurial Innovation and Experiential Learning. IIM Sambalpur is the premium management institution in the country and has demonstrated an inclination to contribute towards the handloom sector and local economic development.
IIM Sambalpur, as of now, operates from the temporary premises allotted to it at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur. The institute will be relocating to the 200-acre permanent campus from the next academic year.
