The time to get you tested in CMAT Sep 2014 has arrived. MBAUniverse.com brings the important do’s for the D-day, shared by Prof. S.K. Agarwal, expert on CMAT preparation. In his view it will be quite helpful to visit the CMAT website to get refreshed and reminded on the missed points related to CMAT Sep 2014. It will also help to familiarise with the rules and regulations of AICTE conducted CMAT Sep 2014 and how to attempt the CMAT in the examination hall.  Please attend to the following guidelines, before getting ready for the examination.


2 Exam sessions every day

CMAT Sep 2014 begins on Sep 25 and will conclude on Sep 29, 2014. There will be 2 exam sessions of CMAT each day during the 5 day test window. Session timings will be from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM and from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM

CMAT 2014 - 50 Current G K Questions

The test is divided in 4 sections namely Quantitative techniques & data interpretation; Logical reasoning; language Comprehension and General Awareness. Each section contains 25 questions of equal weightage.

Familiarise yourself to CMAT  

Prior to the examination day, you should devote half an hour  to become well versed with the navigation tools, so read and understand the guidelines on CMAT. Since there is no change in the pattern of test, you may use past CMAT test to familiarise yourself well.

Required Documents

 Keep the documents ready as they will allow you to enter the examination hall. AICTE has instructed the CMAT Sep 2014 aspirants to bring the following documents at the testing centre

-ATTESTED COPY of CMAT 2014-16 (First Test) Admit Card with recent passport size photo pasted on it.

-At least one original (not photocopied/scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification. Your name on photo id must match your name as entered in the CMAT

application. Acceptable forms of photo identification types are limited to Driver’s license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, UID card. 

-SC/ST candidates are required to bring the valid caste certificate in original and an attested photocopy.

-Physically Disabled candidates are required to bring the valid Disability certificate in original and an attested photocopy.

In case of changed name

Your name needs to be exactly identical to the name on your Xth Marks-sheet or equivalent for the candidates appearing for CMAT Sep 2014. If the names has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must show the relevant document like Marriage certificate, Divorce decree, Legal name change document. A photocopy of the said document is to be submitted at the time of test, interview and at the time of joining the programme.
 
What if you do not have prescribed photo id

If you have none as prescribed above, relax, it won`t take much of your time, go to a notary near  your place with one passport size photograph and a non judicial stamp paper worth Rs. 10/-; get the affidavit prepared  ( Amount may vary from state to state to get the Affidavit prepared)  and the job is done.  Affidavit format is available on CMAT website . Please remember all the required details are duly filled in. The Affidavit should be in English with photo, signature, date of birth and residential address. Photocopy of the original is not permitted.

You will not be allowed the testing hall in case the prescribed photo id is not available.

To do list before arriving at CMAT Examination Centre

You are supposed to report at the examination centre 90 minutes before the scheduled time of examination i.e. if your examination begins at 9.30 A.M., you should arrive at the centre by 8 A.M.

Check the distance, mode of conveyance and time to cover this distance, to reach the examination centre.  You are supposed to be absolutely clear on this aspect, so plan your travel accordingly.  If you are an outsider, reach a day before and stay as near to the centre as possible.

Security check at the CMAT Examination Centre

The check-in process will start one and a half hour before the examination.  Keep your Admit card, identification documents and other required document ready for examination. You will be allowed to take only these documents inside the testing room.

If you are carrying any other small articles, like watch, mobile phone, stationery of any type; they will be kept and stored away from the testing room at your own risk. It is advisable not to carry bags or valuables to the testing centres as there may not be any facility to store them.

Inside the CMAT Testing Room

Entering the testing room, you will find a series of computers.  You will have to sit before one of the computers to get yourself examined.  It is called the Biometric check-in process where the candidate’s digital image and finger prints are captured  in order to verify the identity in future course of selection process On completion of this check-in, you will be guided to your assigned seat.  Since other candidates are in the queue, you may have more waiting time.  The doors of the testing lab (examination room) will be closed 30 minutes before actual beginning of the test.

No break during the test

It is advisable to go to the wash room before the doors are closed. Please note that, after the doors are closed and during the test period, you may not be allowed to go to the rest room.

When the test begins

Read the guidelines and directions carefully. Anything misinterpreted may be disastrous. Take more attempts and try to answer the questions with higher accuracy level. You have around 108 seconds per question to answer, so just relax and maintaining your cool, improve your attempts. Don’t waste more time on one question.  If time permits you may review it afterwards.

Please remember freedom to move from one section to another shouldn’t be wasted on simply scanning the question paper. Keep a balance and solve the questions from all the sections cautiously.

Make optimum use of the pencils, eraser and scratch paper that will be provided to you for calculation and rough work during the examination.  While going through the Reading comprehension passages note down important words and sentences, this will enable you to answer most of the questions based on RC passages.

During the Examination

Each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. Please note rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room. On completion of the test, candidates will have to hand back all the scratch paper to the Administrator 
Please remember not to look around when the examination begins.  Your work station will be blocked on three sides, hence any activity to peep at other candidates will be captured on surveillance cameras and may render the candidate disqualified for the test.

Complete the test in time

You are supposed to complete the test within the time.  If you complete the examination before 180 minutes you should review the various answered you have selected. Please remember you will not be allowed to move out of the Testing-lab although you might have finished the test.  It is therefore advisable to hang on till the testing time is over.

CMAT Sep 2014 in J&K

AICTE has cancelled CMAT Sep 2014 exam at Government Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar in view of the devastating floods. Candidates  who had to appear in CMAT Sep 2014 exam on September 27 & 28, 2014 at the above centre have been allotted new test centre. Candidates can download their new admit cards from AICTE-CMAT site from September 23, 2014 onwards.

However there is no rescheduling of CMAT Sep 2014 test in Jammu as the situation in Jammu has substantially improved.  The candidates are supposed to appear in CMAT in accordance with their current admit cards.

What to study on a day before CMAT   

Most of the candidates try to read and practice more mocks etc. on the day before their examination, thinking it will help more.  However, in view of the experts it sometimes becomes detrimental to your confidence level. Prof. S.K. Agarwal, expert in Verbal and seasoned trainer suggests the candidates to refresh themselves and avoid any hard hitting practice sessions.
