NMAT by GMAC 2016: Online test preparation tool launched; vision to help the candidates prepare better

2nd edition of official online Study material titled ‘NMATPrep by GMAC’ to help candidates prepare better for NMAT by GMAC, the mandatory entrance exam for admission to NMIMS and 17 other B-schools has been launched by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) on June 16, 2016.

GMAC is the owner and administrator of the NMAT by GMAC exam. Following last month’s rollout of the Official Guide for NMAT by GMAC™ Review 2016, this new online portal offers additional questions in the exam’s format to acquaint test takers with the actual test structure and help them prepare for the exam.

With the intent of making the exam more student-friendly, the online study material, NMATPrep by GMAC offers the test taker the following advantages: 

-- One free practice exam with120 past NMAT exam questions which is available to all test takers

-- An Exam Pack, with 2 more practice exams consisting of 240 official never-before-seen questions from past NMAT exams that can be purchased for Rs. 499 plus taxes

-- Answer explanations provided for the Exam Pack

-- Scaled score provided for the two practice exams of the Exam Pack providing useful insights

All practice exams follow similar structure and features as the actual NMAT by GMAC 2016 exam. The NMATPrep by GMAC online practice exams are available on the NMAT by GMAC website.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Vikram Shah, Director, Product Management at GMAC, said, “With the NMAT by GMAC exam registration window beginning July 4, 2016, 2nd edition of NMATPrep by GMAC has been introduced to better prepare students who plan to take the actual exam. With answer explanations and scores to provide test takers with additional practice material, the NMATPrep by GMAC online practice exam has been designed to further help aspirants gain insight about the exam. The NMATPrep by GMAC aims to acquaint aspirants with the structure and pattern of the test, thereby better preparing them for examination day.”

Registration for NMAT by GMAC exam opens on July 4, 2016. The last date for registration for the NMAT by GMAC exam is October 12, 2016. This will help students to practice more ahead of the 75-day testing window for the exam, which will commence on October 7, 2016, and continue through December 20, 2016, at 32 centers in 23 locations across India.

There is no change in the NMAT by GMAC from NMAT exam. The exam structure, content, duration and question pattern remain the same. The NMAT by GMAC 2016 exam is computer-delivered and gives each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, provided one-at-a-time. The exam has 3 sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. All three sections of the NMAT by GMAC are individually timed and test takers must answer questions and review answers to each section within the allotted time of 120 minutes.

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) assumed ownership and management of the NMAT exam in India from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in 2015. As such the exam has been retitled as the NMAT by GMAC.

NMAT by GMAC 2016 is the gateway to various MBA/PGDM 2017-19 programmes offered by NMIMS University Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad campuses as well as Alliance University, Bangalore, Mody University, Rajasthan, Munjal University, Delhi, Ansal University, Delhi NCR, ICFAI University, Hyderabad and other locations, Amity University, Delhi NCR, Shoolini University, Chandigarh, SRM University, Chennai, Thapar University, Chandigarh, VIT University, Vellore, Woxsen School of Business, Hyderabad, Chitkara University, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) and Hyderabad Business School, GITAM University, Institute of Management, JK University,Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida, GITAM School of International Business, Visakhapatnam.
