IBSAT 2013 like CAT is another important online computer based MBA entrance test to be conducted across India by ICFAI Foundation during 22 days examination window from December 16, 2013 to January 7, 2014. This test is the gateway for admission to the IBS B schools.

IBSAT 2013 is based on Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The examination tests the candidate’s ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, analytical reasoning, vocabulary and comprehension. It is comprehensive multiple choice question (MCQ) examination with two hours duration. Major share in the examination is consumed by Vocabulary (English) and reading comprehension with more than 50 percent questions and rest is divided among the other four. IBSAT 2013 Eligibility
Minimum eligibility criteria require the candidates to be graduate in any discipline with English as medium of instruction and with not less than 50 percent marks. Candidates not meeting the criteria of English as medium of instruction at undergraduate level are supposed to submit the TOEFL/NELT/IELTS score by May 2014.
The candidates in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply provided they submit the proof of graduation by November 1, 2014. Another eligibility requirement is that the candidate must have gone through minimum 15 years of regular education i.e. 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis.

Acceptance of CAT/GMAT scores
The scores of this examination are accepted by all the nine IBS B-schools. Scores of CAT 2013 and GMAT 2010 onwards will also be accepted by the IBS B schools in place of IBSAT 2013 and such candidates with high scores in either of these two tests do not require appearing in IBSAT 2013. It is a good opportunity to get a good B school for those who might miss a very good score in CAT and GMAT Candidates may take application form from their nearest designated Axis bank branches or can also apply online. This form is common for all IBS campuses like IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Bangalore, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Hyderabad, IBS Dehradun, IBS Jaipur, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai, IBS Pune and for PhD program at IBS Hyderabad campus
IBSAT 2013 Selection Process
IBSAT 2013 results will be announced on January 20, 2014 and based on their scores in IBSAT 2013/CAT-2013/GMAT-2010 onwards, the qualified candidates will be called for briefing sessions, to be held in 40 cities across India from February 1, 2014 to February 10, 2014. The candidates shall have to present themselves for next round of selection process comprising Group Discussion and Personal Interview, at IBS Hyderabad on the designated dates during 18th to 26th February 2014. Past academic record of the candidate will also be taken into account before final selection.

IBSAT 2013 Preparation
IBSAT 2013 is not as difficult as CAT although it has a similar question pattern. Those who have already appeared for CAT/XAT/NMAT should continue on the same preparation strategy. The test has around 120-125 questions with two hours to solve all of them and major part goes to Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. The need is to practice more of the MCQs and revisit your practiced RC passages. The Quant, DI&DA, LR may be practiced on the same lines of other examination. Remember to focus on time management also.
