CMAT 2016 result declaration is delayed by AICTE due to technical glitches and now the result is expected around 10PM tonight on January 21, 2016 if AICTE is able to set the things right. However, AICTE has thought it better to keep Mum on the issue and appears clueless when it would be able to declare the CMAT 2016 result.
AICTE shares no information
AICTE has also not cared to inform the CMAT 2016 test takers on its website about the probable time and date for result declaration as it did when the CMAT 2016 admit cards could not be issued by AICTE on January 5, 2016 and were delayed by 10 days as only on January 14, 2016 AICTE could enable the Admit cards for CMAT 2016.
It is really surprising to know, as shared by hundreds of CMAT 2016 test takers, how AICTE was able to conduct CMAT 2016 on the scheduled date of January 17, 2016.
First CMAT with no result on time
This is the first CMAT in the history of AICTE when the result of the exam has not been declared on the pre-declared date. Incidentally it is also the first CMAT exam conducted after Prof Anil D. Sahasrabudhe took over as new Chairman of AICTE succeeding Prof Shankar S Mantha, who demitted the office in January 2015.
Delay creates panic
The delay in CMAT 2016 result declaration has not only created panic and anxiety among the test takers but has also put a big question mark on the ability of AICTE to keep its promise to do things on time. CMAT result declaration has never been delayed earlier till CMAT 2015 second test held in February 2015.
CMAT 2016: Chain of delays
AICTE revamped the CMAT 2016 by changing it to yearly exam from twice a year exam. Despite that, it failed to attract as many candidates as used to be there in each of the earlier CMAT exams.
Right from the beginning of registrations for CMAT 2016, AICTE failed to adhere to the announced time lines and continued with its delaying agenda.
Initially AICTE shared with MBAUniverse.com on July 28, 2015 that entire information on forthcoming CMAT would be available in public domain in a week’s time. Later after waiting for a month a small notification was issued that CMAT would be a yearly affair. Then AICTE continued sleeping over it and in the month of November 2015 it announced the schedule of CMAT 2016.
Following delays occurred in convening the CMAT 2016-
-- AICTE had to extend the registration by 3 more days
--There is no list of B-schools accepting CMAT 2016 scores on AICTE site
--AICTE has not shared any where the number of total candidates registered for CMAT 2016
--Issuance of CMAT 2016 Admit Card was delayed by 10 days from January 5, 2016 to January 14, 2016
--Now the delay in CMAT 2016 result declaration has added to the woes of the test takers.
Impact of delay in declaring the result
Probably those sitting in high position with the regulator AICTE, do not understand the plight of the candidates who may suffer due to the delay in CMAT 2016 result declaration.
The very first thing the candidates will have to suffer is due to the closing of admission application process in highly ranked B-schools.
There are number of B-schools who accept only CAT and CMAT scores. While the CAT 2015 result was declared on January 8, 2016, many candidates who could not score high in CAT 2015, appeared in CMAT 2016 to improve their scores. Most of the B schools flooded with applications of CAT takers, would be closing the process in a few days. In case CMAT 2016 result is not declared shortly, it will be difficult for these aspirants to apply to many other good B-schools.
Even if there is delay in CMAT 2016 result declaration due to one or other technical problem, AICTE is supposed to place the relevant information and probably time and date of result declaration.
In the morning on January 21, 2016 many reputed media houses spread the rumour that AICTE-CMAT 2016 result had been declared. This misleading and false news not only created panic among the aspirants but the CMAT 2016 test takers also got worried as they were not able to get access to their result. To avoid such problems, it is the duty of AICTE to keep the candidates informed in advance about the situation, if it is not able to adhere to time line.
