CMAT 2016 Admit card supposed to be enabled by AICTE today on Jan 5, 2016 has been delayed although only 12 days are left for the exam
Genuine doubt among the aspirants is haunting their mind whether AICTE would be able to convene the first revamped CMAT 2016 smoothly or the exam would be marred with technical glitches

Issuance of Admit card for the maiden yearly CMAT 2016 to be conducted on January 17, 2016 by AICTE has been delayed and the Admit card icon has been withdrawn by AICTE from its site. There is no concrete information about the probable date and time when the Admit card for CMAT 2016 would be enabled. Instead a ticker on the site says “The date for download of Admit Card will be intimated shortly” but this ‘shortly’ has no specific time limit.

The Admit card for CMAT 2016 was supposed to be enabled by AICTE today on January 5, 2016 onwards. Non-issuance of the same has created panic among the CMAT 2016 aspirants whether AICTE would be able to convene its first yearly CMAT 2016 on January 17, 2016 efficiently without technical glitches or it is also going to be a nightmare for the test takers.

AICTE has earlier announced and the information available in the CMAT 2016 FAQ section says “You can PRINT your ADMIT CARD by going to website www.aicte-cmat.in from 5th January, 2016. Apart from the ADMIT CARD made available ONLINE on the website, the admit card will be sent to the email address provided by you.”

Barely 12 days are left for the CMAT 2016 exam which is going to be held on January 17, 2016. The delay could be due to certain technical problems and since CMAT 2016 is an online computer based test, technical issues on the D-day cannot be ruled out.

Delay creates panic
Thousands of CMAT 2016 aspirants waiting for the Admit Card to check their details are getting  panicky and are contemplating whether AICTE would be able to make timely corrections, in case there are errors in the Admit Card details.

CMAT 2016 with many firsts: Would it be glitch free?
AICTE has introduced many firsts in the CMAT 2016 yearly exam. A genuine doubt among the aspirants is haunting their mind whether AICTE would be able to convene the first revamped CMAT 2016 smoothly or the exam would be marred with technical glitches.

The reasons are not unfounded and progress on timely and correct information, so far in convening CMAT 2016 has also not been satisfactory that could prove the smooth passage on the D-day.

From twice a year to yearly exercise
CMAT used to be a twice a year exam for admission to various MBA/PGDM programmes in AICTE approved B-schools. The first CMAT was held in the month of September while the second was held in the month of February. However, with effect from CMAT 2016, it will no longer be twice a year exam as it used to be.

There was no first CMAT 2016 in September 2015 and the testing process has become a yearly exercise now. There wouldn’t be an opportunity to improve your scores in second CMAT incase the first CMAT does not award you good scores. As such you may not be able to send in your 2 scores for consideration of the better one at the B school from now onwards.

From 4 days 8 sessions to 1 day 1 session
CMAT used to be a 4 days 8 sessions exam till February 2015. Since 2016, it has not only been made a yearly exercise but also the CMAT 2016 will be held in a single session on a single day.

It implies that AICTE will have to cope with the rush in one session of all the test takers who were earlier divided among different sessions on different days. Now the crux of the problem is that the candidates have their doubts whether AICTE in its maiden yearly CMAT 2016 exam would be able to cope with the rush and make it the smooth glitch free, well managed test or it will simply wastage of time for aspirants like the first computer based CAT in 2009 which was marred with more technical problems and MHRD had called for the explanations and reports on various problems that occurred in first computer based CAT.
