MAH MBA CET 2027: Exam Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Pattern, Top Colleges and CAP Rounds

MAH MBA CET 2027, also called MAH MBA/MMS CET 2027 or Maharashtra MBA CET 2027, is a state-level computer-based test conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. Its percentile is the only score that Maharashtra State candidates can use for MBA/MMS admission through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The score is used by Government, university and unaided private management institutes across Maharashtra, which together offer more than 40,000 MBA/MMS seats, including some of the top MBA colleges in India. Candidates from outside Maharashtra can also take the exam for All India seats, or apply with scores from CAT 2026, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT.

The official exam date for MAH MBA CET 2027 has not been announced yet. Based on the 2026 calendar, the first attempt is expected in the first half of April 2027 and the second attempt in the second week of May 2027. Registration is expected to open in the second week of January 2027, with results expected by June. The expected dates below are MBAUniverse.com estimates. The MAH MBA CET Cell will confirm the schedule in its registration notice soon. 

The 2026 exam date changes show that the MAH MBA CET 2027 registration date can shift once announced. Registration opened on January 10, 2026 and was due to close on February 12, but was extended to February 20 and finally to February 25. A special one-day window on April 24 let candidates sign up for the second attempt with a ₹500 late fee. Both exam dates held as announced.

To appear in MAH MBA CET 2027, you need a bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, or 45% if you belong to a reserved category, the Economically Weaker Section or the PwD category and are from Maharashtra. Final-year students can also take the exam. These are the 2026 brochure criteria, expected to continue in 2027; no age limit is mentioned. 

Eligibility for CAP Admission (After Exam)
For admission through CAP, the rules differ by candidature type, a point aspirants often misunderstand:

In short, if you are a Maharashtra State candidate, the CET is compulsory for state-quota seats; a CAT or CMAT score cannot replace it. Only All India candidates can use a national exam score. Read more: MAH MBA CET eligibility criteria.

Registration is expected to open in the second week of January 2027 on the CET Cell portal at www.mahacet.org. In 2026, the application fee was ₹1,500 per attempt for Open category, Outside Maharashtra and J&K migrant candidates, and ₹1,300 per attempt for Maharashtra reserved-category, EWS and PwD candidates.

How to Register: Step by Step

1. Visit www.mahacet.org, open the CET Portal and click "Register".
2. Create an account with your email ID, a strong password (8 to 16 characters), mobile number and date of birth.
3. Authenticate your Aadhaar and APAAR ID through DigiLocker; both are mandatory.
4. Complete your profile: address, domicile, PwD details, and SSC and HSC/diploma marks.
5. Open "CET Registration" and select the MAH MBA/MMS CET exam.
6. Fill in category, qualification and preferred exam districts, and choose one or both attempts.
7. Pay the fee online; when the status shows "ENROLLED", your application number is generated. Print the form.

Documents and Details to Keep Ready

• Identity: Aadhaar number, APAAR ID and DigiLocker PIN; your name at sign-up must match Aadhaar.
• Academic and category details: SSC, HSC/diploma and graduation marks; domicile, category and disability (UDID) details where applicable.
• Photograph: colour, 2 x 2 inches, 100 KB to 5 MB, against a plain light background.

MAH MBA CET Application Fees (2026)
The fee is paid online and is non-refundable; the 2027 fee will be confirmed in the new brochure.

The 2027 exam is expected to follow the two-attempt system used in 2026. You can register for one or both attempts, each attempt is scored as a separate percentile, and if you take both, the better of your two percentiles is used for CAP admission. In 2026, the second attempt came 31 days after the first. Candidates could choose it while registering, add it in the edit window or sign up on April 24. The fee is per attempt, so both cost ₹3,000 (₹2,600 for Maharashtra reserved categories).

Should You Take Both Attempts?
Taking both gives you a safety net and recommended. It is most useful if you are aiming for JBIMS, SIMSREE or PUMBA, where cut-offs sit above the 99th percentile. Decide at registration, when adding the attempt is simplest.

The MAH MBA CET exam pattern 2027 is expected to remain 200 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes: Logical Reasoning 75, Abstract Reasoning 25, Quantitative Aptitude 50 and Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension 50. Each correct answer earns one mark and there is no negative marking.

• Question type and medium: five-option multiple-choice questions, in English only, online.
• No sectional time limit: you can move to any question at any point within the 150 minutes.
• Section order (2026): Logical Reasoning (Q1–75), Abstract Reasoning (Q76–100), Quant (Q101–150), Verbal Ability (Q151–200).

The syllabus for MAH MBA CET 2027 covers four areas: Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. The official brochure describes what each area tests but publishes no topic list, so the topics below are drawn from the 2026 papers and slot analyses. Earlier topic lists showed large puzzle sets; the 2026 papers moved away from them, so practise standalone reasoning questions rather than long puzzles. 

The 2026 first attempt ran in five sessions from April 6 to 8 and was rated easy to moderate but lengthy. The biggest change was in Logical Reasoning, which moved from puzzle sets to standalone questions, so for the MAH MBA CET exam 2027, speed and question selection will matter more than difficulty.

What 2027 Aspirants Should Take Away

• Logical Reasoning decides the result: 75 lengthy standalone questions with few puzzles; aim for 45–60 seconds each.
• Abstract Reasoning banks marks: easy in every slot, with some previous-year patterns repeated.
• Verbal Ability is steady: four or five RC passages for 20 questions; leave the toughest passage for last.
• Quant is arithmetic-led: two DI sets plus arithmetic, with calculation-heavy decimals.

MAH MBA CET 2027 preparation should focus on speed and accuracy across all four sections, with extra practice in Logical and Abstract Reasoning, which together carry half the marks. Build your strategy through regular mock tests and previous year question papers, and practise a fixed time plan for the 150 minutes.

Section-wise Strategy

• Reasoning: practise arrangements, coding-decoding, series, syllogisms and input-output daily, plus 20 or more figure-based questions a day.
• Quant and Verbal: strengthen arithmetic and mental calculation, time your DI sets, and read newspapers daily for RC speed.

MAH MBA CET 2027 books are largely the books used for CAT preparation: the Arun Sharma series on Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (with Meenakshi Upadhyay), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. Add previous year CET papers, which no book can replace.

• Danesh Kumar Suthar (2024, 100 percentile, AIR 1): 30+ full-length mocks, one or two a day in the final 30 days; "CET RCs are direct – focus on speed reading."
• Patrick Dsouza (AIR 1 three times, MMS from JBIMS): three to five mocks a week, then two or three in the final week, at your actual exam time.
• Shreekanth Merugu (99.96 percentile in 2020, JBIMS alumnus): no new topics in the final week; revise squares, cubes and fractions in the 30 minutes before the exam.

The MAH MBA CET 2027 admit card is expected in the first week of April 2027 for the first attempt and the first week of May for the second, based on the 2026 release dates of April 2 and May 2. It is downloaded from the candidate login and must be carried with an original photo ID.

How to Download the Admit Card
1.    Log in to the candidate portal and open "Hall Ticket".
2.    Download the admit card and check your name, photograph, exam date, session and centre.
3.    Print it on A4 paper. (An Exam City Intimation Slip, naming only your exam city, comes earlier.)

MAH MBA CET Test Cities
The exam is held in 36 cities, all in Maharashtra: Ahmednagar, Akola, Amravati, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Beed, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Hingoli, Jalgaon, Jalna, Kolhapur, Latur, Mumbai, Mumbai Suburban, Nagpur, Nanded, Nandurbar, Nashik, Osmanabad (Dharashiv), Palghar, Parbhani, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg, Solapur, Thane, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal. You choose preferred districts while registering, but the CET Cell allots the centre.

Exam-Day Rules and Documents

• Carry: printed admit card, one original photo ID and a passport-size photograph (same as uploaded).
• Valid IDs: PAN card, passport, permanent driving licence, voter ID, Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar, bank passbook with photo, college ID, employee ID or Bar Council ID; not ration cards or learner's licences.
• Name change: carry the original gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit.
• Prohibited: mobile phones and electronic devices; carrying one leads to disqualification.

The MAH MBA CET 2027 result is expected in the last week of May 2027 for the first attempt and the second week of June for the second, based on the 2026 result dates of May 30 and June 12. Results are declared as session-wise percentiles, and the better percentile counts for candidates who take both attempts.

Answer Key and Objections
In 2026, the CET Cell displayed the question paper, responses and MAH MBA CET answer key in the candidate login, and candidates could challenge questions online for ₹1,000 each over three days. In the first attempt, 34 questions were challenged and 11 were upheld; in the second attempt, 29 were challenged and 6 were upheld. Of the 17 upheld questions, 13 earned every candidate in that session a bonus mark and 4 had their answer key changed.

How MAH MBA CET Normalisation Works
Each session has a different paper, so raw marks are converted into percentiles separately for every session: your percentile is the share of candidates in your session who scored equal to or less than you, multiplied by 100. The top scorer in every session gets the 100th percentile, and percentiles are calculated to seven decimal places to reduce ties.

How to Download the Scorecard
1.    Visit cetcell.mahacet.org and open the "MBA/MMS-CET Scorecard" link.
2.    Click "Download Score Card" and enter your application number, date of birth and any security PIN.
3.    Download, save and print the scorecard.

The scorecard shows your details, overall score and overall percentile, and is needed for CAP registration.

MAH MBA CET 2026 Toppers
The CAP provisional merit list for 2026 named 6 Maharashtra State candidates and 19 All India candidates at the 100th percentile; of the All India toppers, 11 qualified through MAH MBA CET, 6 through GMAT, one through CAT and one through CMAT. In the second attempt, 4 of the 41,440 candidates who appeared scored the 100th percentile.

The six Maharashtra State toppers were Kartik Naresh Mantri, Naman Indrkumar Agrawal, Shubhangi Sandeep Thakur, Gajare Sahil Balasaheb, Parth Satish Malsaria and Shreyash Tripathi.

Maharashtra MBA CET 2027 scores are accepted by 300+ MBA/MMS institutes. The most sought-after are JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE Mumbai, PUMBA Pune, Welingkar Mumbai and SIES Mumbai, where General category cut-offs are expected at the 99th percentile and above. Mid-tier MAH MBA CET Colleges are expected to close between the 85th and 95th percentile. Cut-offs vary by category, by Home University seats and between Maharashtra State and All India seats, which are tighter because only 15% of seats are for All India candidates. 

Based on 2026 coaching estimates, a raw score of about 148–158 marks was needed for the 99.9th percentile, 120–124 for the 99th, 102–106 for the 95th and 95–98 for the 90th. Percentiles depend on your session, so treat these as broad guides.

After the MAH MBA/MMS CET 2027 result, admission happens through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) run by the State CET Cell. Based on 2026, CAP registration is expected in July 2027, followed by a merit list and four CAP rounds of option filling, seat allotment and reporting, with all admissions closing by mid-September.

How the CAP Process Works

1. CAP registration: apply online and upload documents (CAP registration last date in 2026: July 19). CET candidates pay no CAP fee; others pay ₹1,500, or ₹1,300 for Maharashtra reserved categories.
2. Verification and merit list: e-scrutiny or physical scrutiny, a provisional merit list, then the final merit list and seat matrix (July 27 in 2026).
3. CAP rounds: fill the option form, check the allotment, pay the ₹1,000 seat acceptance fee and report to the institute (August 2 to September 7 in 2026).
4. Institute-level admissions: institutional quota and vacant seats, up to September 15 in 2026.
5. Within Maharashtra State seats, 60% are reserved: SC 13%, ST 7%, VJ/DT and NT 11%, OBC 19% and SEBC 10%. EWS candidates get 10% over and above the intake, with further reservations for PwD (5%), defence personnel's children (5%), orphan (1%) and female (30%) candidates.

MAH MBA CET registrations have risen from 1,11,846 in 2019 to 1,81,426 in 2026, an increase of 62%. The 2026 cycle alone added 24,145 registrations over 2025, including the new second attempt.

•    Results are getting faster: 52 and 34 days after the two 2026 attempts, against 55 days in 2025 and 65 in 2024.
•    Wider participation: 8 transgender, 482 orphan and 487 PwD registrants in 2026.
