Close on heels of the 100% placement with high salary packages for its flagship 2 years MBA programme, IIM Calcutta has now concluded final placement 2019 for its one year MBA with highest salary going up to Rs.1.25 crore and average salary of Rs.26.98 LPA leaving behind the 2 Years MBA Average Salary of Rs.25.36 LPA. Consulting domain has again claimed highest share in recruitment with 29% placement for 2 years MBA 2017-19 batch.

Breaking its own record, the Steller Placement performance for 2 years MBA 2017-19 batch with higher than last year pay packages is left behind as IIM Calcutta achieves 100% Placement for its one year MBA 2018-19 batch with higher average salary than recorded for 2 years MBA programme.

IIM Calcutta which concluded its final placement 2019 for its 54th batch of PGP class 2019 in just one day with 501 offers made by 123 recruiters to 441 participating students, has recorded stellar performance in one year MBA placement for MBAEx 2018-19 program (previously known as PGPEX). The average salary for the MBAEX – one year MBA class 2019 has shot up by 10.3% to INR 26.98 Lakhs. The highest domestic salary offered to IIM Calcutta One year

The outgoing cohort of 60 students in IIM Calcutta one year MBA programme witnessed 104% increase in average salary relative to their pre-MBA compensation. Some of the prominent recruiters include Amazon, Accenture, EXL, Ford, Oyo, Swiggy, Sapient, and Zensar.

IIM Calcutta has already concluded the final placement for its 2 year full time MBA programme, achieving yet again 100% placement from top recruiters. The average salary in Placement 2019 for 2 years MBA 2017-19 batch has gone up at Rs.25.36 lakhs -  steep hike over last year salary. Consulting sector has claimed 29% share in placement 2019 with Accenture emerging as top recruiter with 24 offers. IIM Calcutta has not shared the highest salary package for PGP 2017-19 batch. The last year highest salary at IIM Calcutta was Rs.75 lakhs.

IIM Calcutta’s MBAEx program (previously known as PGPEX) continues to provide value for money. The MBAEx class of 2019 has become the first cohort to achieve 100% placement for the academic year 2018-2019 among all the leading one-year MBA programs across the country.

In a recently concluded survey by Times Higher Education (THE) and the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), one year MBA - MBAEx of IIM Calcutta is ranked 3rd among all global one-year MBA programs.

Consulting: 29% placement offers
Consulting sector emerged as the highest recruiter contributing to 29% of the total offers made. Top recruiters in this sector were Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG, McKinsey who made offers in double digits. Other top recruiters include EY-Parthenon, Alvarez & Marsal and PwC amongst others

Finance Campus of Asia: 21% offers
Finance sector continued to churn out a high number of offers strengthening the image of IIM Calcutta as the Finance campus of Asia. 21% of the total offers were made in this sector by top recruiters like Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), Citi, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Avendus among others.

E-commerce, Operations, Product Management: 16% offers
16% students were placed in E-commerce, Operations and Product Management. In all 68 offers were accepted by students. Amazon, Uber, Udaan, Media.Net, Flipkart, Microsoft, Salesforce were the prominent top recruiters in this sector.

Students were recruited in General Management (14% offers), Sales and Marketing (12% offers) and IT-Analytics (8% offers). Top recruiters included Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra, Wipro, Adani, L’Oréal, Mondelez, Hindustan Unilever, Samsung, Coca Cola, Bajaj Auto, EXL, American Express and Cognizant.

Initiatives taken for Faster Placement 2019
The fast Placement 2019 at IIM Calcutta is a result of initiatives taken during last one year. Students at IIM Calcutta co-developed a scheduling system with a Bangalore based start-up which increased efficiency and ensured maximization of interface opportunities between students and recruiters.
