IIM Indore has introduced many changes in its MBA Admission process 2023. Releasing its admission policy a little late in November 2022, IIM Indore has announced not to conduct Writing Ability Test (WAT) in final selection round and will focus more on improving the academic and gender diversity in its class rooms. For admission 2023, IIM Indore will award 20% weightage to CAT 2022 score and high weightage of 74% to the Class X and XII marks in shortlisting the candidates for final selection round for the PGP 2023-25 batch. After implementation of IIM Act 2017, the PGP students at IIM Indore are awarded MBA degree instead of diploma. IIM Indore offers management programs at its two campuses - Indore and Mumbai to meet diverse needs for management education.
For admission to the PGP 2023-25 batch, applicants are required to qualify in CAT 2022 with minimum required sectional and overall percentile. Overseas candidates may however, apply with GMAT scores. The minimum requirement to qualify for shortlisting process for PI round is CAT 2022 sectional score of 80 percentile and 90 overall percentile. IIM Indore is the only among the 20 IIMs which awards such a high weightage to academics in shortlisting criteria. The very purpose of keeping the CAT 2022 score weightage low is to improve the academic and gender diversity in IIM Indore Classrooms.
IIM Indore admission is through CAT 2022 which is scheduled on Nov 27, and the last date to apply has closed on September 21, 2022. Read below all the key changes in IIM Indore admission criteria 2023, key USPs of IIM Indore, cut offs, programs offered, Fees, Placements and more

8. IIM Indore Eligibility criteria 2023
- 8.1 IIM Indore Eligibility criteria for PGP admission 2023-25 is changed for the applicants who did graduation in 2019 and before and for the candidates who did graduation in 2020 or after:
- 8.1.1 For the candidates who graduated in the AY 2019 or before: Completed Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in the case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD Category)
- 8.1.2 For the candidates graduated in the AY year 2020 or after: Completed Bachelor’s degree with “promotion/pass” instead of “award of marks”. Considering that there could be different evaluation patterns adopted by different universities across the country (during academic year 2021 and 2022) due to covid-19 pandemic, the candidates with “promotion/pass” instead of “award of marks” certificates are eligible to apply. This eligibility relaxation is also applicable to those candidates who are final year students with “award” of marks.
- 8.2 One of the most important points in IIM Indore Admission Eligibility criteria is that apart from a recognized graduate degree, the candidate should appear in CAT 2022 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to become eligible for admission
- 8.3 If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Indore by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate.
- 8.4 A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Indore Admission 2023. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
- 8.5 IIM Indore Eligibility further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will not be eligible for the IIM Indore admission unless he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2023 from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2023) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
- 8.6 It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IIM Indore and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2023. The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2023.
