MAH MBA CET 2026 Last Week Preparation Strategy

Shreekanth Merugu, JBIMS alumnus, MAH MBA CET Topper (99.96%ile in MBA CET 2020) and Co-Founder of The Top Percentile (TTP) has shared last week MAH MBA CET Preparation Tips 2026 for students taking the exam on April 6-7-8. Follow these important tips to boost your exam day performance.

MAH MBA CET 2026 Last Week Preparation: What to Do in Final 7 Days

By Shreekanth Merugu (JBIMS Alumnus), 99.96%iler MBA CET 2020

Everything you've built over last few months comes down to how smartly you use this final week. This is not the time to panic, start new topics, or give up. This is the time to execute! Here are tips to make the best use of your last few days before the exam.

1. Lock Your Mock Strategy
Finalise your section order and time allocation now. If you're still figuring out your strategy, follow the Minimum Time Limit approach give each section a minimum time limit, not a maximum time limit as per your strengths:

  • LR - 45 minutes

  • AR - 15 minutes

  • QADI - 25-30 minutes

  • VARC - 25-30 minutes

This strategy uses ~120 of your 150 minutes, the remaining 20-30 minutes are your secret weapon use them in whichever section you're most confident in and where you know you can pick up more marks. The key is to use the Mark for Review button throughout the exam so you can return to promising questions quickly. This approach also helps you gauge the paper's difficulty after 120 minutes rather than realising too late at 150 that your slot was extremely easy or difficult.

2. Fix Only What's Fixable
No new topics now! Go through your error log, formula notes, and vocabulary words. Read your notes once to refresh, not to memorise. Use your mock analysis to identify 3-5 areas where small fixes give the most marks. Keep your momentum high by solving at least 2-3 LR puzzles, DI sets, and RC passages daily to maintain your speed and rhythm.

3. One More Full Mock At Your Exam Slot Time
This is important. Give this mock at the exact time your actual exam is scheduled. Attention span and mental sharpness vary significantly across the day, and your brain needs to be trained to peak at that specific hour.

4. How to Use Mocks
Last year, we saw a difference between the mocks and the actual MBA CET exam. The takeaway? Mocks are meant to give you a flavor of what could happen, not a guarantee of what will happen. Give different types of mocks, learn from your mistakes in each, and focus on building an adaptable exam strategy rather than expecting a predictable paper.

5. The Golden 30 Minutes
You'll be seated 30 minutes before the exam starts. Use that waiting time well: quietly revise fractions, squares, and cubes from 1 to 30 to get your brain into exam mode. Don't try to revise anything complex. Learn to warm up and use this wating time to your advantage.

6. Sort Everything and Sleep Early
Get your documents, ID proofs, and pens sorted today. Don't leave it for the night before. You cannot carry a calculator or phone into the exam hall. Reach the centre early, sleep well, eat well, stay calm. You've done the work. Now go execute.

MAH MBA CET Last Minute Preparation Strategy by Patrick Dsouza

Patrick Dsouza is MAH MBA CET Topper who has secured All India Rank 1 in MBA CET Exam three times. He completed his MMS from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and runs own coaching institute and trains students to crack MAH MBA CET, CAT and other MBA entrance exams. Read MAH MBA CET 2026 preparation tips by Patrick Dsouza, exclusively on MBAUniverse.com.

“With less than 1 month for the MAH MBA CET, it is important that one prepares in the right direction. Let’s start with making a list of what is required to be done in the coming days.

Most important step is taking Mocks and building Strategy. MBA CET is 2.5 hours paper. It’s a tiresome paper and you get exhausted by the time paper is done. Here are key reasons to focus on Mock Tests.

  • Build Stamina: First reason to write mock would be to build Stamina to write a 2.5 hours paper. If you do not have a habit of writing a 2.5 hours paper you will get tired during the paper and will not be able to think, which will ensure you underperform.
  • Build right Test Taking Strategy: Second reason you write mock is to build a proper test taking strategy. A good strategy could make a lot of difference in your scores. Strategy would involve the sequence in which you will solve the different sections, time you will provide for each section, the type of questions that you will solve or guess mark, how to decide whether to keep solving or leave a question you are stuck.
  • Identify Areas for Practice: Third reason of writing mock would be to identify areas you need to practice. These are areas that you may find it time consuming or low accuracy, but you believe with practice you will be able to improve. Ideally these are areas that you may not have practiced before and the reason for high time or low accuracy could be due to not being familiar with the type of questions.

After taking each Mock Test, you should thoroughly analyse it and make a writeup on the mock which you need to go through in the week before the exam. Writeup will consist of your Strategy – what worked and what went wrong, questions that you need to go through at a later date, your mistakes and their cause, areas of improvement and table that tracks your progress.

After taking mocks and analysing them, work on your areas of improvement which you have identified during your Mock Analysis. Pick up questions on your areas of improvement and practice. In some type of questions more practice will help you to improve in others you will have to change your method of solving to see any improvement.

In the weeks before the last week to the exam take 3 to 5 mocks a week. Rest of the day’s focus on areas of improvement.

In the week to the exam, you should take 2 to 3 mocks. Focus on going through your past analysis of Mocks and revisiting important questions/concepts. Ensure that you write the mock at the schedule time of your actual exam so that you get used to writing mock at that time of the day.”
