CET Cell has issued important instructions for candidates registering for MAH MBA CET Counselling Process 2026. Check details below. 

1. If candidates fail to confirm online filled application by E-Scrutiny center or Physical Scrutiny Center then such applications will be rejected and name of such candidates will not appear in the merit list(s) prepared for the purpose of Admission for both CAP as well as Non CAP process.
2. The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT NT (A), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC, SBC and SEBC categories shall produce “Caste Validity Certificate” and ST category shall submit “Tribe Validity Certificate”. All Backward Class candidates excluding SC & ST shall produce Non Creamy Layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2027. If such candidates fail to produce the original certificate or receipt of Caste/Tribe validity certificate, Non Creamy Layer certificate and EWS certificate issued by competent authority at the time of verification by Scrutiny Center, then such candidates will be treated as GENERAL category candidates for CAP admissions.
3. EWS candidates shall produce the Eligibility Certificate for Economically Weaker Section (As per the format in Maharashtra State Government Resolution No. राआधो 4019/P.N.31/16-अ, dated 31/05/2021 only). Refer Proforma - V of Information Brochure for A.Y. 2026-2027.
4. In case of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidates after registration & confirmation of their application at “Director, Sydenham Institute of Management Studies & Research & Entrepreneurship Education(SIMSREE), B-Road, Churchgate, Mumbai 400020” shall approach directly to the Institute for admission where such quota is granted by the appropriate authority.
5. For Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidates: - Such Candidates will get the Receipt-cum-Acknowledgement through their login after confirmation of application by Scrutiny Center. Applications received after the last date from candidates belonging to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant candidates will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
6. Candidates who have registered as a reserved category candidate, but unable to produce required certificate for reservation claim during documents verification stage shall have to pay difference of fee of Rs. 200/- through online mode only.
7. Once the candidate confirms his/her Option form online through his/her Login for the respective admission rounds, Candidate will not be allowed to change/cancel the option/preference submitted under any circumstances.
8. A Candidate who has been allotted a seat shall download the “Provisional Seat Allotment Letter”.
9. The Seat Acceptance Fee shall be Rs. 1,000/- for all Candidates. The candidate has to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee during first seat acceptance only. This fee shall be treated as non refundable processing fee. The Seat Acceptance fees is to be paid through His/ Her Own login by ONLINE MODE only.
10. Seat Confirmation Process: Your admission becomes official only after the allotted college verifies your original documents and eligibility within the specified timeline, after which the admission in-charge will issue your Online Receipt of admission confirmation.
11. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), SBC and EWS categories who submitted a receipt for their Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate or Non-Creamy Layer Certificate or EWS Certificate during the CAP registration process must upload and verify their original certificates by visiting a Scrutiny Center. They must then submit these original certificates to the admitted institute on or before the final reporting date of the fourth CAP round. Failure to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of their admission. Consequently, such candidates will be considered under the Open category for subsequent institute-level rounds, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the Open category.
12. Candidates belonging to the OBC and SEBC categories who submitted a receipt for their Caste Validity Certificate must upload and verify their original certificate by visiting a Scrutiny Center, in accordance with the timeline specified in G.R. No. संकिर्ण 2024/प्र.क्र.75(भाग-1)/ आरक्षर्-5, dated 02/07/2026, issued by the General Administration Department.
13. Candidates belonging to OBC and SEBC categories who submitted a receipt for their Non-Creamy Layer Certificate
    during the CAP registration process must upload and verify their original Non-Creamy Layer Certificate by visiting a Scrutiny Center. They must then submit this original certificate to the admitted institute on or before the final reporting date of the fourth CAP round. Failure to do so will result in the automatic cancellation of their admission. Consequently, such candidates will be considered under the Open category for subsequent institute-level rounds, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the Open category.
14. Candidate applying for admission through NRI, OCI, PIO, CIWGC, FN quota should refer to web portal - https://fn.mahacet.org/. However for OCI candidates, the directives of the Hon. Supreme Court order WP(C) No. 891/2021 will apply.
15. The Orphan Reservation will apply in accordance with the Government Resolutions issued by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, from time to time.
16. The Defence Reservation will apply as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra and Letter No. F.No.6(1)/201/D (Res.II) of the Ministry of Defence, Department of Ex Servicemen Welfare, Government of India, dated May 21, 2018.
17. Institutional Quota & Vacant Seats: To apply for Institutional Quota or post-CAP vacant seats, you must first complete mandatory registration and document verification at a Scrutiny Center; afterward, you must either apply directly to your chosen colleges or fill out the Institute Level Option Form via your candidate login so the colleges can generate and publish their merit lists as per the schedule

MAH MBA CET CAP Eligibility for 2026 is defined separately by the State CET Cell for three distinct candidate streams: Maharashtra State (MS), All India (AI) including J&K and Ladakh Migrants, and NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign National candidates. a) Eligibility for Maharashtra State Category Candidates

• The candidate should be an Indian National.
• The candidate should have passed a minimum three-year duration Bachelor's degree from any university recognised by UGC or AIU in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for Reserved Categories, EWS and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
• The candidate should have obtained a non-zero positive score in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2026 conducted by the Competent Authority. (Source: State CET Cell Information Brochure 2025-26, Section 18, Post Graduate Degree Management (MBA/MMS), All India Candidature Candidates, Clause iii.)

b) Eligibility for All India Category Candidates

• The candidate should be an Indian National.
• The candidate should have passed a minimum three-year duration Bachelor's degree from any UGC/AIU recognised university with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for Reserved Categories, EWS and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
• The candidate should have obtained a non-zero positive score in any one of the following examinations: MAH MBA/MMS-CET 2026, CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT, or GMAT. c) Eligibility for NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) and Foreign Nationals

• The candidate should have passed a minimum three-year duration Bachelor's degree from any UGC/AIU recognised university in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent.
• Any other eligibility criteria as declared from time to time by the appropriate authority under the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015.

Final-year graduation candidates can also apply, subject to producing the final degree certificate at the time of admission confirmation, as is the standard practice across CAP cycles

The MAH MBA CET 2026 Counselling registration fee is notified by the State CET Cell in the official CAP Admission Notice. As per the official CAP 2026-27 Admission Notice No. 1 (dated July 2, 2026), the registration fee is ₹1,500 for General category candidates (Maharashtra State, OMS/All India, J&K and Ladakh Migrants) and ₹1,300 for Reserved category candidates of Maharashtra (SC, ST, VJ/DT-NT, OBC, SBC, EWS, SEBC, PwD) as well as Orphan and Transgender (Other) candidates, payable online only. Registration Fee Exemption

• Candidates who have already registered and paid for MAH MBA/MMS CET 2026 do not need to pay the fee again for the CAP Round.
• Candidates applying through CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT scores, but who have not registered for MAH CET 2026, must pay the CAP fee as per their applicable category. Additionally, as per CAP Notice No. 1, reserved-category candidates who are unable to produce the required certificate during document verification must pay the fee difference of ₹200 online.

Participation in the MAH MBA CET Counselling Process 2026 requires online registration, document submission, choice filling, and reporting at the allotted institute. The complete process, as defined by the State CET Cell, runs in nine clear stages.

Step 1: Register for CAP

• Visit the official State CET Cell, Maharashtra website at cetcell.mahacet.org.
• Click on the CAP Registration link for MBA/MMS admissions.
• Create an account using personal details, MAH CET score (or other accepted exam score), and contact information.
• Pay the CAP registration fee (if applicable) and submit the form

Step 2: Upload Documents

Candidates need to upload scanned copies of all required documents for online verification. The standard document list includes:

• MAH MBA CET 2026 scorecard (or scorecard of CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/MAT/GMAT, as applicable)
• Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets
• Graduation degree and marksheets (final-year candidates can submit provisional documents)
• Caste certificate, caste validity and non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile certificate (for Maharashtra State candidates)
• EWS, PwD, defence or other special-category certificates as relevant
• Identity proof — Aadhaar / Passport / PAN

Step 3: Fill and Lock Preferences

• Select and rank MBA/MMS colleges in Maharashtra in order of personal preference.
• Consider previous year cut-offs, location, faculty, placements, fee structure and brand value before finalising choices.
• Lock the choices before the official deadline — once locked, preferences cannot be edited for that round

Step 4: Seat Allotment (Round 1)

The CET Cell processes applications and allots seats based on:

• MAH CET score and merit rank (or accepted alternative exam score)
• Category and reservation (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD etc.)
• Preferences filled and locked by the candidate
• Availability of seats in colleges (Home University, Other than Home University, State Level seat tags)

The seat allotment result is published online on the candidate dashboard.

Step 5: Check Allotment Status

• Log in to cetcell.mahacet.org and check the seat allotment result.
• Download the allotment letter for record

Step 6: If Allotted a Seat: Accept and Report

• Candidates satisfied with the allotment must accept the seat online within the stipulated window.
• Report to the allotted institute with original documents and confirm admission by paying the institute fee.
• Failure to accept or report within the deadline may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

Step 7: If Not Allotted a Seat: Wait for Next Round

Candidates who do not receive an allotment in Round 1 can:

• Modify their preferences and wait for the next CAP round.
• Continue participating in further CAP rounds (II, III, and IV where conducted).
• Explore Institute-Level admissions (vacant CAP seats and Institutional Quota seats) if they remain unallotted after the final CAP round

Step 8: Repeat Process for Further Rounds

• If vacant seats remain, additional CAP rounds (Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4 as applicable) are conducted.
• Candidates can revise their college choices in line with displayed vacancies.
• The process continues until all CAP seats are filled, after which the Director of Technical Education declares the cut-off date for institutional admissions.

Step 9: Final Admission Confirmation

• Once satisfied with the allotted seat, complete all admission formalities at the institute.
• Submit original documents and pay the prescribed admission fee.
• The candidate is now officially admitted to the MBA/MMS programme for AY 2026-27.

MAH MBA CET CAP Registration for 2026 will go live on cetcell.mahacet.org once the CAP notification is released. Aspirants should follow the structured MAH MBA CET CAP Registration Process below to avoid common form-rejection errors.

a) Visit the Official Website
•    Log on to the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra portal: cetcell.mahacet.org.

b) Access the CAP Registration Link
•    On the homepage, locate and click the CAP Registration link specific to MBA/MMS admissions for AY 2026-27.

c) Create a New Account
•    Click 'New Registration' and enter personal details like name, contact information, valid email ID, and mobile number.
•    Set a strong password for the account.
•    On submission, a Provisional Registration Number and Password will be sent via email and SMS.

d) Fill in the Application Form
•    Log in using the Provisional Registration Number and Password.
•    Enter personal information, academic qualifications and MAH MBA CET 2026 score details. All India category candidates using CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA/MAT/GMAT must enter the respective scorecard details instead.
•    Select the appropriate category from General, Reserved, NRI/OCI/PIO, J&K Migrant or CIWGC.

e) Upload Required Documents

f) Pay the Registration Fee
•    Pay the MAH MBA CET CAP Registration Fee online.

g) Submit the Application
•    Review all entered details and uploaded documents for accuracy.
•    Click 'Submit' to finalise the application.
•    Save or print the confirmation page for future reference.

h) Document Verification
•    Document verification is done through either E-Scrutiny (fully online, no centre visit) or Physical Scrutiny (visit to a Scrutiny Centre / Facilitation Centre) — candidates choose one mode during online form-filling, as per CAP Notice No. 1.

•   Ensure that name, date of birth, marks and category match the originals.

i) College Choice Filling and Locking
•    After successful registration and verification, fill and rank preferred MBA/MMS colleges.
•    Lock choices before the deadline. Unlocked applications are not considered for that allotment round.

j) Seat Allotment and Admission
•    Seats are allotted based on MAH CET 2026 score (or alternative exam score), category, and locked preferences.
•    If allotted, follow the instructions to accept the seat and report to the institute within the stipulated window.

•    Indian National status.
