CMAT 2016 aspirants waiting for the Admit Card to check their details would now have less time to request AICTE to make timely corrections, in case there are errors in the Admit Card

After keeping the CMAT 2016 aspirants in a dilemma by not issuing the admit card on January 5, AICTE has now informed that the admit card would be enabled on Saturday January 9 from 9 AM onwards. The CMAT 2016 Admit Card is proposed to be available till the exam day. However, AICTE has not shared the reasons for delay in issuance of CMAT 2016 admit card which kept the candidates wondering whether the CMAT 2016 test day would also be postponed.

The anxiety has not been unfounded as this is the first yearly CMAT going to be conducted on January 17, 2016 by AICTE during the past 4 years. In anticipation of various queries on non issue of admit card, AICTE withdrew the Admit card icon from CMAT 2016 site. Now candidates can see a running ticker on the site stating ‘Candidates can download exam Admit Card from 9th Jan’16, 9 am onwards’. However the Admit Card icon has not yet been enabled on AICTE site. Probably, it is going to take one more day for AICTE to get it placed at the right and designated position.

CMAT 2016 Admit card was to be enabled by AICTE on January 5, 2016 onwards. Non-issuance of the same had created panic among the CMAT 2016 aspirants. Now after lingering on for 4 days and fighting the technical glitches that might have erupted due to which Admit card could not be issues, AICTE has announced that the same would be made available from January 9, 2016.

Would CMAT 2016 be glitch free? A big question
Would AICTE be able to convene its first yearly CMAT 2016 on January 17, 2016 efficiently without technical glitches or it is also going to be a nightmare for the test takers, is a big question now.  In fact since CMAT 2016 is an online computer based test, technical issues on the D-day cannot be ruled out.

It is a genuine doubt among the aspirants haunting their mind whether AICTE would be able to convene the first revamped CMAT 2016 smoothly or the exam would be marred with technical glitches since the progress on timely and correct information, so far in convening CMAT 2016 has also not been satisfactory that could prove the smooth passage on the D-day.

Admit card on Website and in mail id
AICTE says “You can PRINT your ADMIT CARD by going to website www.aicte-cmat.in. Apart from the ADMIT CARD made available ONLINE on the website, the admit card will be sent to the email address provided by you.”

Please note that no hard copy of the admit card will be sent to you by post or courier.

Less time for error correction
CMAT 2016 aspirants waiting for the Admit Card to check their details would now have less time to request AICTE to make timely corrections, in case there are errors in the Admit Card details as only 7 days would be left for the CMAT 2016 test day. It is also not clear whether AICTE will keep its helpline open on Sunday January 10, 2016 as nothing is mentioned on its website in this regard.

CMAT used to be a 4 days 8 sessions exam till February 2015. Since 2016, it has not only been made a yearly exercise but also the CMAT 2016 will be held in a single session on a single day.

AICTE will now have to cope with the rush in one session of all the test takers who were earlier divided among different sessions on different days. Unless due arrangements are made to conduct a smooth test, the test may not go glitch free. There is still time that AICTE should revisit the testing arrangements in order to ensure a trouble free passage for the first yearly CMAT 2016.

CMAT 2016 will be a computer based test (CBT) of 3 hours duration. The exam will be held in a single day & single session on January 17, 2016 from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM in 62 cities across the country.
