CAT 2016 Exam Notification issued by IIM Bangalore directs the aspirants to follow the guidelines and instructions for registration to the exam that opens on August 8, 2016 but there are no such guidelines available on website. CAT Centre 2016 at IIM Bangalore has also not clarified also when it will enable the necessary registration guidelines for CAT 2016 on the website as only few days are left for the registration process to open.

According to CAT Centre 2016 at IIM Bangalore “instructions for online registration and the application process will be available in the Registration Guide and Registration video published on the website: www.iimcat.ac.in.”  Less than a week remains for the CAT 2016 registration to open and the aspirants are still in dark about the important guidelines to register and apply for CAT 2016.

Candidates unable to be registration ready
CAT 2016 registration process is an online process and need various documents and information items to be kept ready before you proceed for registration and make online payment.

The details on how to begin the registration process, what size of documents you need to upload, which certificates and documents you will necessarily need during the registration process – everything is explained in registration guide and the registration video comes as an additional  help but both the documents are not available on CAT 2016 website as yet nor any information is shared by when they will be enabled.

For example, if your graduation marks sheet, class 12 or class 10 marks sheet, date of birth certificate, category certificate or any other document which may have been kept away by you at your native place and you are working/studying at some distant place, how you could arrange the same at the eleventh hour if you do not know whether it will be required to complete the registration.

Registration mistake to cost double
In absence of timely availability of registration guide and video, candidates may not be able to understand which items are mandatory and which are not and may make mistakes in the registration process. In case the mistake cannot be edited, the aspirant will have to shell out Rs.1700/- again towards registration fee as CAT Centre 2016. On the top of it, you will not get any refund for your earlier registration.

CAT Centre 2016 is very clear on this point and says “If you have made a mistake in these details, you must register again with a new email ID. Your CAT 2016 application will be considered for the latest registration and the Admit Card will be issued for the same. Please note that, you will not receive a refund or Admit Card for your earlier registration. Failure to re-register in such circumstances may lead to nullification of your candidature.”

Registration guide – how important
Usually CAT Centre publishes step by step registration guide but this time it is missing till date. The registration guide helps you to decode even before you proceed to register, how to login, how to create your mail id, which items you should enter first and which afterwards, how to enter your personal details, academics, work experience, choose various management programmes of IIMs and how to check that your payment has been successfully made.

Applying for CAT 2016 is also a time bound process, so if you are not able to complete it in time, the site will close by default and all your entered information may get vanished. Then you will have to login again and re-start the process.
