Final checks on CAT 2014 results are underway and the results are expected to be announced in the middle of 3rd week of December 2014 even before Dec 20. CAT Centre 2014 had promised in its press release while inviting applications for CAT 2014 that CAT 2014 results would be declared in the third week of December 2014. Despite many odds and delays in various activities during the CAT 2014, it appears CAT Centre 2014 will adhere to the result declaration schedule for the exam.
Revealing the progress and expected date to declare the results Dr Rohit Kapoor CAT 2014 convener says “As far as dates are concerned, we will shortly announce it on our website. Request the candidates to wait for now.” CAT 2014 test takers can now feel relaxed that with the good amount of activity going on in the processing of CAT 2014 result, it may not be delayed like issuance of CAT 2014 Admit Card.
Speculation on CAT 2014 results whether they would be announced as per the schedule is contemplated here and there. In fact according to Dr Rohit Kapoor, CAT 2014 Convener “We are in the activity of processing the results. Final checks are also underway.” While the gigantic task of processing the result and normalizing the scores of 1.70 lakhs of CAT 2014 test takers is not an easy one, CAT Centre 2014is making all out efforts to keep the promise of declaring the result on time.
Dec 21: The last day of third week
It is expected that CAT Centre 2014 will not let the third week pass. The result may be declared even before the last day of third week of December i.e. before Dec 21. In all probability the result might be declared on Dec 20, 2014 in the late evening or in the wee hours of Dec 21.
The past trend of CAT result
CAT results were used to be declared in the second or third week of January every year. In earlier CAT exams most of the times the result was declared in the wee hours of the appointed date or a bit late in the morning.
CAT 2014 is the first exam where instead of announcing the result date, a week has been given as the range to declare the CAT 2014 result. No doubt CAT Centre 2014 is processing the result very fast and will shortly announce the result declaration date as well; still it has created a bit of dilemma among the CAT 2014 takers.
CAT 2014: The earliest result in past 6 years
As anticipated CAT 2014 results could be announced preferably by Dec 20 or in the wee hours on Dec 21 before the 3rd week in Dec 2014 ends. Despite the fact that in CAT 2014 the testing window was short and result processing has also got a short span before declaration of result for almost same number of test takers as appeared in CAT 2013, the test is proposed to be declared one month before than in earlier CAT exams.
IIMs had announced that the results would be declared in the 3rd week of December 2014. If this herculean task is completed in time it will be a big achievement and CAT 2015 could be further shortened to only one day test, may be in 2 sessions.
