Final Merit list, after all the 3 CAP 2015 rounds of MAH CET 2015 candidates got over for MBA/MMS admission to 44000+ seats in Maharashtra B-schools has been declared by DTE on June 6, 2015. Thousands of candidates who were allotted different B-schools during CAP 2015 and were required to confirm their admission chose to remain absent due to which final merit list has lesser number of candidates than they were there in provisional merit list.

DTE Maharashtra displayed Provisional merit list of candidates on June 2, 2015, after completion of CAP 2015 on June 1, 2015. Candidates were given 3 days time to submit their grievances, if any after display of MAH CET 2015 provisional merit list. The time to submit the grievances also got over at 5PM on June 5, 2015 subsequent to which DTE declared the final merit list of candidates who have been allotted respective B schools in Maharashtra in order of merit.

Avoid delay: Be quick to decide

Please note that any delay in confirming admission may prove detrimental if you have been allotted a good B-school in CAP round. All the candidates are required to report for admission to the Respective Institutes as per the schedule.

DTE Maharashtra clarifies ‘Candidates reporting late for the admission or candidate, who remain absent, will not be considered for the allotment process and requests of such candidates regarding reconsideration will not be entertained under any circumstances’

No personal communication in this regard will be sent by DTE Maharashtra. The onus of responsibility has been fixed upon the candidates to see their allotment on the website.

Candidates securing allotment have to confirm the admission by reporting at the Respective Institutes mentioned in allotment list with the identity proof, original certificates needed for admission and on payment of full fees on or before the last date specified for the same.

The admission will be confirmed only after scrutiny of all original documents and payment of the entire fees as prescribed by the respective institute and also approved by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti, Maharashtra.

Candidates will have to confirm the admission accepted by him/her by paying the requisite amount of fee to the respective institutes. 8. Admissions once confirmed shall be FINAL and candidates shall not be allowed to seek transfer of their admission to some other institution.

If not interested- check for better admission options

Out of 44000 seats in Maharashtra B-schools, more than 25% seats are still lying vacant in MBA/MMS/PGDM programmes after completion of all the CAP rounds 2015 by DTE Maharashtra. Those who preferred to remain absent, have not or will not like to take admission and deposit fee in the allotted B school in CAP round, still have good options to take admission in their preferred B school as now the B schools could offer admission on their own to the applicants as per DTE Maharashtra norms.

Admissions against CAP Vacancies

According to DTE Maharashtra ‘The seats remaining vacant after offering admissions to the candidates through CAP due to non reporting and cancellation after CAP Round-III will be filled in by the managements of the respective institutes. Admission authorities of the respective institutes will have to process these admissions strictly as per the guidelines given in Annexure -III.’

Since, as against 57224 MAH CET 2015 test takers whose names and ranks were published by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra not even 40000 have confirmed their admission in the B schools allotted to them in CAP 2015, good admission options could be found in Maharashtra B schools.

The absentee does not include the candidates who did not register and attended the CAP 2015 despite appearing in MAH CET 2015.

80 to 100% seats through CAP 2015

While the 100% seats are allotted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds in Maharashtra Government or Government aided management institutes, University Departments, University managed institutes, 80% seats in unaided private B-schools are also allotted through CAP only. The top rankers get the best B-schools in Maharashtra, while others do not find the other B schools allotted to them worthy to study. These candidates wait for the vacant seats after CAP round and try to search out better institute level options.

Remaining absent in CAP, non confirming of admission at the institute by the candidates due to one or other reason of preference, thousands of MBA/MMS/PGDM seats go vacant in Maharashtra B schools which are later tried to be filled up at the institute level. If DTE does not bind the B schools with the high reservation norms through CAP, these B schools could get more number of candidates direct.

Earlier also there were more than 30% seats remaining vacant in 50% B schools in Maharashtra after completion of the CAP round. In fact DTE conducts the MAH CET usually in the month of March every year, by the time result is out, most of the candidates decide on the basis of their other exam scores which B school they should go for. By the time CAP by DTE is conducted other good B schools in other states close their admission process many others prefer to prepare again and get a better B-school next year.

Besides, due to faulty conduct of MAH CET 2015 leading to court case against DTE Maharashtra, the MBA/MMS admission process being conducted by DTE is gradually losing its charm.

There are number of good B-schools in Maharashtra offering quality education and good placement, more number of candidates aspire for admission in these B schools but the many others who may not be getting support from the regulator may not be doing so well.

There are still good options open to the candidates in Maharashtra B schools including MET IOM, ITM, IESMCRC, DSIMS, ASM-IPS, ASMs IBMR, MITSoB, KBS, VESIMS, UBS, IIMS, BITM, BIMM, BIMHRD, ISB&M among others where candidates can apply direct to get admission.
