MAH CET CAP 2015; Know the B school you can get in admission process with your score

The beginning of CAP 2015 on May 16, 2015 has ushered the MBA/MMS/PGDM 2015-17 aspirants in the domain of anxiety which B school they could get
With all the turmoil on MAH?MBA/MMS?CET2015 scores put to rest by Bombay High Court on April 28, 2015, the beginning of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2015 on May 16, 2015 has ushered the MBA/MMS/PGDM 2015-17 aspirants in the domain of anxiety which B school they could get with their scores out of 400 B schools in Maharashtra.

With the score cards in hand and aspirants already aware about the expected cut off, the wait for allotment of B school through CAP (Centralized Admission Process) being conducted by DTE Maharashtra has sprung up speculations on calculation formula of merit.

A candidate with a 99.99 percentile would definitely expect to find himself in the best placed merit position as he has scored the highest percentile in MAH CET 2015. But it may not necessarily happen. His position in merit may move downwards also due to the merit formation formula of DTE Maharashtra.

MBAUniverse.com brings before you to the opportunity to find your own merit position with parameters as adopted by DTE Maharashtra

Exams included in merit preparation of MAH CET 2014

For Maharashtra State(MS) and Outside Maharashtra State(OMS) candidates seeking admission against All India Seats, apart from MAH CET 2015 score, DTE Maharashtra will consider CAT 2014; CMAT 2015; MAT 2015; XAT 2015; ATMA; GMAT. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the highest percentile score obtained by the candidate in any of the above tests.

Although the examination like CMAT awards raw score along with percentile position, still DTE admission notification states that the scores obtained in CMAT will be converted to the percentile score up to 2 decimal points without rounding off. If a candidate has appeared in more than one examination, the best percentile scored by him shall be taken into account for preparation of merit list.

Formation of merit in case of equal marks and percentile

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra proposes to prepare relative merit list on the basis of following criteria for CAP round in MAH CET 2015

1. More weightage will be given for the higher percentage of marks scored in class 12 or its equivalent examination.

2. Preference will be given to the candidates who have scored more marks in class 10.

3. Preference on the basis of age will be given to a candidate who is elder.

Separate merit lists for MS & OMS

Separate merit list will be prepared for admission against the Maharashtra state seats (HomeUniversity, Statelevel and Persons with Disability); All India Level Seats (State level) and J&K migrant(Statelevel)candidates.

Seat Allotment

Seats will be allotted to candidates as per their merit and as per the options filled in theoption formand thenumber ofseatsavailableat that point of timein the stagesofCAPRound.

All candidates eligible for a particular stage of allotment will be considered for allotment for a seat in that stage even if they have been allotted/not allotted a seat in the previous stage.

Your Merit position: Upward shift possible

Number of candidates appear in various examinations. For example the candidates who have scored 99+ percentile in MAH CET 2015 and whose admission at any of IIMs, FMS Delhi, IIFT, MDI, IMT, IMI, XLRI has already got the final shape, they may not prefer the B school in Maharashtra and as such, more spaces may fall vacant. Therefore, during the allotment at any stage, the candidate may get upward shift in the allotmentwith reference to the optionsfilled in the option form according to availability ofseatsatthatpointoftime.

How to know about the seat allotment

Allotment of seats to the candidates is proposed to be displayed on DTE Maharashtra website on June 2, 2015. It would be only provisional allotment. No personal communication in the form of allotment letter in this regard will be issued to the concerned candidates.

The authorized document for the allotment will be the institute wise allotment list. Besides, allotment against the first available option in the order of options filled in the online option form shall be considered as final..

Not reporting at B school to result in candidature cancellation

The candidates, having secured allotment are required to confirm the admission by reporting at the institute mentioned in allotment along with the original certificates needed for admission on or before the last date specified for the same. No personal communication in this regard will be issued. If the candidate doesnt report at the institute and doesnt take admission in the allotted institute as per the provisions of respective CAP round, its liable that his admission may get cancelled.
