The Masters in Management (MiM) enables you to expand your career options by combining the specialist knowledge of your undergraduate degree with a broad and general business and management postgraduate education.
The programme is designed to fully prepare you for your first involvement in management. It allows a smooth progression from an undergraduate degree to an understanding of the processes of general management. MiM helps you acquire knowledge and understanding of all the major management disciplines, and undertake specialist electives in chosen topics. It provides the conceptual and analytical tools necessary to tackle business problems with greater confidence. The students would gain an appreciation of the wider organisational context and how different business functions interact and inter-relate MiM applies theoretical understanding to practical application. It instills a culture of learning, reflection and development. Learning about practice will come through the students actions and experiences as they undertake their internship and complete a company-based research project. This vital part of the programme will enhance employability.
The MiM progamme is intensive and academically challenging and seeks to develop business knowledge, practical experience and personal skills.
The Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) provides over three years an excellent foundation for students taking a first degree in business and management. From an introductory grounding in diverse subjects in the first year, students progress to more advanced subjects in the second year, combining specialist electives in Glasgow at Strathclyde Business School with courses essential for understanding contemporary business and management (The International Manager, New Venture Creation and Strategic Management). In the third, and final, year of study, students major in three chosen subjects. This specialist course of study is complemented with a foundation in research methods and exposure to important issues in the world of business and management.
In sum, the BBS is a relevant undergraduate programme that provides students with an excellent foundation in the fundamentals of business and management, whilst exposing them to cutting-edge knowledge and research in these fields.
