XLRI Jamshedpur Admission 2014: Registration to remain open till December 21

Online registration for Admission 2014 at  Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur will last till December 21, 2013. Registration to XLRI’s PGDM courses and fellow programmes in Management for 2014-16 batch will be open till midnight of December 21, 2013.

XLRI Jamshedpur accepts admissions on the basis of Xavier’s Aptitude Test (XAT) which is an exam conducted by the institute itself for admission to its various management programmes. Apart from XLRI, XAT is also a gateway to 115 top institutes like XIMB, LIBA, SP JAIN, TAPMI, XIMR, GIM, XIME, BIMTECH, IMT-Ghaziabad and many others.

The fees for the XLRI applications 2014 will depend on the number of programmes applied for. The fees to apply for one programme is Rs 1050, for two programmes the fees is Rs. 1650, the fees for three programmes is Rs.1850, the fees for four programmes is Rs. 2050 while that for five programmes it is Rs. 2250.

XAT 2014 which is less than a month away will be held on January 5, 2014 across the country and in two cities abroad as well namely Dubai and Kathmandu. The registration window for this test began on August 12, 2013 and closed on December 2, 2013.  The results will be available on the website by January 31, 2014.

XLRI Jamshedpur : Programmes and Fee Structure
The flagship programmes of XLRI are its two year PGDM (BM) and PGD (HRM) courses having 180 and 120 seats respectively. A total number of 240 students took admissions in the 2013-15 batch. Apart from them the institute provides various courses like PGDBM (part-time), PGDM(Global MBA), FPM, GMP, Exec-PGP(India) Exec-PGP (Dubai), Exec PFM, PGCBM(satellite), PGCLSCM(satellite), PGCRM(satellite), MPOD and XLRI -Accenture Human Capital Management programme.

The total fees of XLRI is Rs 15,99,000 which includes Rs 8,10,000 tuition fees, Rs 46,000 caution money, Rs 30,000 admission fees, Rs 83,000 hostel fees and Rs, 6,30,000 as other fees.

XLRI Jamshedpur Placements 2013

In the placement session 2013, 77 companies visited XLRI for recruiting management graduates and offered 77 jobs. Among the total number of 234 students in the 2011-13 batch, 233 got final placements. The average annual salary offered to the students was Rs 15.53 lakhs and the highest domestic salary was Rs 28 lakhs while the international recruiters offered an annual package of Rs 16 lakhs.

A number of 120 students were placed under the function of HR, 41 were placed in marketing and sales, 34 under finance, 19 under consultancy, 13 under general management 5 under operations/supply chain while 2 students were placed under the function of systems/IT.

XAT 2014 Exam Pattern

XAT 2014 will have the same pattern like that of XAT 2013 consisting of two parts to be attempted during three hours duration from 10.30 A.M. to 1.30 P.M.

Part-1 will have following four sections comprising multiple choice questions of objective type to be solved in 160 minutes.

1. Verbal and Logical Ability 
2. Decision Making 
3. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation 
4. General Knowledge

Part-2 will consist of a subjective test of essay writing in 20 minutes. 

However the marks of General knowledge and essay writing will not be used for determining the percentile and cut off at first stage of selection. But it is used by XLRI and some other Associate Member institutes at the time of final selection.
